In late 2011, guitarist/vocalist Jordan Cook moved to Seattle, Washington, from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where he was introduced to David "Stitch" Rapaport and Joseph Braley from the band The Mothers Anger. Cook formed the band Reignwolf and invited Rapaport and Braley to join him.
In August 2013, after more than a full year of non-stop touring, the band released their first single, "Are You Satisfied?", the same day they performed at Lollapalooza. Later that year, they announced they had been selected as the direct support act on Black Sabbath's 2014 North American tour. Two more singles followed ("In the Dark" and "Lonely Sunday"), and Reignwolf was declared one of "10 New Artists You Need to Know" by Rolling Stone in January 2014.
The band played their final show of the year on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2014, at The Showbox in Seattle. In 2015, Reignwolf signed with Stardog Records under the Republic/UMG umbrella and went into the studio to write and record their debut album. During that time, they appeared in the episode "What Would Phil Do?" of Cameron Crowe's Showtime series Roadies.
Released on February 1, 2019, "Black and Red" was the first single from "Hear Me Out", which came out on March 1, 2019. On June 17, 2022, Reignwolf released the single "The Woods" with Rage Against the Machine drummer Brad Wilk.

I Want You
Reignwolf Lyrics

Knocking on your door like
Oh, you
Well, you know I'm on the killing floor
Don't like you don't know 'cause I told you, I told you
I want you
You know I want you
You're in my head
It'll never be like the way it was before
You make it hard and that's not easy to ignore
Well,I'm telling you
You
I get the feeling that you just understand
I'm crying wolf and I'll always be your man
I told you
I-I'm telling you
I want you
You know I want you
You're in my head
You're in my head
I want you
You know I want you
You're in my head
You're in my head
The lyrics of Reignwolf's song "I Want You" convey intense feelings of desire and obsession towards someone who seems to have been a part of the singer's life before. The opening lines of "I've been here before, knocking on your door like, oh you" suggest that the singer has previously pursued the object of their affection, potentially unsuccessfully. The phrase "on the killing floor" could symbolize a situation where the singer feels vulnerable or at risk of being hurt by this person, yet they cannot resist the pull towards them.
As the chorus repeats, "I want you, you know I want you, you're in my head," it becomes clear that this person is constantly on the singer's mind and they cannot seem to let go of their feelings for them. The lyric "it'll never be like the way it was before" could suggest that there was once a time when things were different between them and the singer wishes to recapture that feeling. However, the line "you make it hard and that's not easy to ignore" shows that this person may be difficult to be with or pursue, yet the singer is determined to keep trying.
Towards the end of the song, the lyrics "I get the feeling that you just understand, I'm crying wolf and I'll always be your man" suggest that the object of the singer's desire is aware of their actions but still accepts and perhaps even reciprocates their feelings. The song ends with a repeated plea, "I want you, you know I want you, you're in my head," emphasizing the singer's overwhelming longing for this person.
Overall, "I Want You" portrays a sense of unrequited love and a persistent desire for someone who may not be easily attainable. The singer is willing to take risks and persist despite the obstacles, suggesting a deep level of emotion and attachment.
