The band’s lyrical approach is mainly poetic, with lyrics dealing with introspection, the search for knowledge and emotional release as well as the person's primitive need for magic, ascension and ritual. In late 2003, Reino Ermitaño self-released their first full-length Reino Ermitaño, recorded at Vituchi’s Studio by Tavo Castillo, and co-produced, mixed and mastered by Lalo Williams.
Three years later Brujas del Mar was released on PsycheDOOMelic Records label.
In 2008 the successor Rituales Interiores saw the light of day through I Hate label.
Latest album to date Veneración del Fuego was released in 2012 again through I Hate.
The band name translates to Hermit's Kingdom (approximately anyway).

The lyrics to "El Sol Tras la Niebla" by Reino Ermitaño speaks to the desire of leaving the reality of the world behind and retreating to a magical cloud that exists only in one's imagination. The singer wishes to transform into the sun that hides behind a thick fog, away from the pain, the suffering, and the need to scream. The desire for escape from the troubles of the world is prevalent in the second verse, where the singer imagines living in a world where nothing breaks, and the hurricanes bring splendor. The singer continues to plead with their audience to let them live in this world, where they can become the full moon and rain on the earth from above.
In the third verse, the lyrics take a sudden turn, and the singer talks about their acceptance of the darker, more somber aspects of their being. The shadows and vague lights that awaken their kingdom and their connection to the darkness, death, and nothingness. The singer, with their desire to live in the world beyond, also accepts the darkness within them, and the two desires coexist. The final verse is quite profound, where the singer says they'd rather live in the darkness with salamanders and drink from the eternal mineral dreams. They ask to be taken away from the light and the living world because they find beauty in the abyss.
