Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Rammstein’s “Reise, Reise” are about the perilous life of a sailor on the sea. The first verse describes battles on the waves, where a spear is used as a weapon against both man and fish, and the second verse suggests that the sea is a dangerous and deadly place where the souls of the unfortunate end up in eternal darkness.
