Where Do I Go From Here
Relient K Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
May not be coming home
Needin'
To know I'm not alone
Even
Though I can't feel a thing
Takin'
Makin'
The best of what will quit
Breakin'
Me down, I can't feel a thing
[Chorus]
Where do I go
Where do I stand
Where can I find myself again
Where do I go
If not disappear
Where do I go from here
Tracin'
My steps right back to you
Racin'
The clock to save an hour or two
Facin'
The fact I can't feel a thing
Dealin'
With what I can't control
Feelin'
Confused 'cause I don't know
If healing
Is when you don't feel a thing
[Chorus]
The lyrics to Relient K's song Where Do I Go From Here deal with the aftermath of a breakup and the accompanying feelings of confusion and uncertainty. The singer is struggling to come to terms with the end of the relationship and is looking for a way to move forward. The repetition of the line "I can't feel a thing" throughout the song emphasizes the numbness and detachment that often comes with heartbreak. The chorus poses questions about where to go and how to find oneself again in the wake of a difficult breakup, highlighting the sense of lostness and disorientation that accompanies the end of a relationship.
The lyrics also touch on the difficulty of control and acceptance when dealing with heartbreak. The singer is trying to make the best of the situation and come to terms with the fact that they can't control their feelings. The line "Dealin' with what I can't control" acknowledges the futility of trying to force healing or move on before one is ready. The song captures the struggle of navigating the complex emotions of a breakup and the search for a new sense of direction and purpose.
