Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Rema's song Charm tell a story of a man trying to convince a woman to give him a chance and surrender to his charms. He asks her what is bothering her, telling her to come closer to him and get her body rocked. He boasts about how he has more money than her father and is willing to do anything for her. He asks her to drop her guard and allow him to love her. The chorus talks about his desire for her body and how he cannot resist her charms.

In the next verse, he complains about how she is playing hard to get and pretending not to be interested in him. He tells her that he has pounds for her and that she should not act like money is a problem. He asks her to be more flexible and to follow his lead. He ends the verse by instructing her to move her body in a certain way, so as to appeal to him.

Overall, the song is a catchy Afrobeats tune that revolves around a man trying to charm a woman into being with him. The lyrics are simple and repetitive, but the beat is infectious, making it a popular party song.

AMAZING VISUALS REMA NEVER DISAPPOINTS!🦇🔥

Lyrics breakdown for those that don't understand ... breakdown of the song and interpretation of some of the slangs and pidgin english used. Summary (before the breakdown): The song is basically Rema trying to woo a lady who's older than him but she's playing hard to get while simultaneously acting naive because she's skeptical about his ability to cater for her needs because she's older than him.
The song is titled charm which can be likened to snake charmers who use flutes to tame Cobras. Rema is trying to tame an older lover who's clearly more experienced than him but she's acting naive to throw him off while waiting to strike (like a Cobra), but Rema despite his young age has experience. During the back and forth of trying to outsmart the other they end up falling for each other

Lyrics Interpretation:
*Come here wetin dey worry you
("Come here, what's wrong with you". He's beckoning her)
*Bring body make I rock am
(Come closer, let me rock your body)
*I know you senior me
(I know you're older than me)
*I get e money pass your papa
(I have more money than you Dad. He's basically saying despite his age, he can cater for her better than her father😅.)
*Wetin you want wey I no fit do for you?
( What exactly do you want that I can't give you?)
*Why you wan dey "Buga" wọn??
(Why are you acting all high, mighty & proud. To "Buga" means to raise your shoulders)
*Shey you be kizz Daniel ni??
("Are you kizz Daniel??" This line relates to the word "Buga", basically, Kizz Daniel is another big Afrobeats artiste and last year he had a hit song titled "Buga".)
*You better drop your body armor
(He's telling her to stop being guarded and suspicious around him)
*Soco (means to throw it down/dance or buss it )
*Suffry with this body (Be gentle with this body)
*Make we run am on a low-key
("Let's keep this relationship on a low". The lady has agreed to be his lover but he wants them to keep it on the low, away from the public)
*Baby you know me
* E get as you go move wey I no go gree
("If you start misbehaving or acting shady, I'll not partake in it". Personally I'm thinking due to their age differences, she's trying to outsmart him and play him because he's younger but he stands firm and reminds her that he's only young in age and has a lot of life experiences so he can't be played).
*Come make I drive your hmmm (Come let's have sex😅)
*Come make I drive this your jalopy
(Jalopy is used to refer to an old car. Because she's older, he's referring to her body as a jalopy not in a condescending way but more like, the older the berry the sweeter the juice).
*Baby allow me tip you off with e allowee
(Baby allow me send you allowance. Allowee is the Nigerian slang for monthly allowance)
*See body( look at this body)
*E gba mi o
(Help. He's calling for help, not because he's in trouble but because the lady is an absolutely beautiful specimen, something he's never seen before and he adores her).
* E dey burst e my bololo
(She's bursting my brain... Basically she has wowed him. Bololo is a slang for clean shaven head)
*Please help me
*Me I don jam wetin pass me
(I can't handle this pressure. Even though he's trying to act cool, he admits that the lady is way more than what he expected. A rare gem and he's not sure he can handle her).
Back to the chorus
Verse 2
*You too dey form with this love of a thing
(You keep pretending and hiding your true feelings when love is involved)
*Baby ehn lend me lend me
(Baby give me give me. He's telling her to let her guard down even more and give him love)
I get e pounds for you ehn, you wan dey do like say ehn naira no dey end
( I have pounds and other currencies for you, stop acting like money isn't what you want)
*You too dey stiff like say your waist no dey ehn e no dey bend
(You're acting innocent like you're new to sexual activities😅)
*Oya follow my command, baby do like I do
(Follow my command and do whatever I do. So, even though she's older, she keeps pretending she has no sexual experience. So instead of forcing her to admit she's a wild girl, rema decides to accept and just teach her bedroom moves even though he knows she's lying about being a novice.)

Chorus again

That's all. The "*" are for the Nigerian pidgin English and slang. The words in brackets are the interpretations in English and some deeper explanations {copied & modified}.
