Romeo
Remo Drive Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Romeo′s in the front seat, and yeah he's got the car running.
He beat my ass and he took the keys, I′m on the driveway screaming.
I didn't know he would visit me, in fact I thought that he wouldn't.
But here I am on the concrete, with my stupid mouth smirking.
We both speak in perfect screenplay scripture.
Like it′s written, and we′re pulling it down from the ether.
I'm in the trunk gagged and hog-tied, but I′ve never felt so alive.
Romeo's on the freeway, with a lead-foot speeding.
Dark red on his denim jeans, from all my new wounds bleeding.
I don′t know what time it is. For all I care time doesn't exist.
I don′t know what time it is. For all I care time doesn't exist.
We both speak in perfect screenplay scripture.
Like it's written, and we′re pulling it down from the ether.
I′m in the trunk gagged and hog-tied, but I've never,
I′ve never, I've never, I′ve never, I've never, I′ve never!
We both speak in perfect screenplay scripture.
Like it's written, and we're pulling it down from the ether.

We both speak in perfect screenplay scripture.
Like it′s written, and we′re pulling it down, down, down, yeah!

Overall Meaning

The Remo Drive song "Romeo" tells the story of a twisted love triangle. The singer is infatuated with a person named Romeo, who is in a relationship with someone else. Despite this, Romeo pays the singer a visit unexpectedly, physically assaults them, and kidnaps them. The singer is then taken on a high-speed drive while they are bound and beaten in the trunk of Romeo's car. Throughout the ordeal, the singer realizes that they have never felt so alive, revealing a dark sense of desire for the danger and excitement of the situation.

The lyrics describe the scene in a way that feels cinematic, as if it is all part of a movie script. The relationship between the two characters is seen as if they are playing out a pre-written story, with each line of dialogue and every action already predetermined. This adds to the feeling that this is a twisted, dangerous and ultimately doomed relationship.

Overall, the song is a chilling portrayal of obsession and desire, with a hint of darkly romanticized violence.

All of remo is great. Unique sounds in all departments. Gritty emo in the first album and polished melodic in the next. Cant wait to hear their next album!!!

@djh491

This is great, would've fit nicely on the original album tracklist.

@pascalm9754

Greatest hits was their best, no competition, but this new sound can't compare because it's so different from the other

@cagaming9724

Yeah it's really different
Still good though
Well
The second album wasn't great but I loved the EP this song was on and the third album feels more interesting and overall way better.
Also this song's guitar riff kicks ass.

I like all of Remo Drives music, old and new, but Romeo as well as Ezra and Marla are my two favorites
