Reset was formed in 1995 in Montreal, Quebec. Originally the band members were Pierre Bouvier, Philippe Jolicoeur, Charles-André "Chuck" Comeau and Jean-Sébastien Boileau. Reset recorded a demo tape : Concerned, in 1995.
Then came the first full length album: No Worries in 1997 recorded at Le Studio Morin-Heights. The band shot a video clip for the single “Why”. In 1999 Reset had a different line up. Pierre was now singing and playing bass, and a new member, Adrian White from Vancouver, joined to play drums with the punk rock band based out of Montreal. In 2000 they released No Limits. This album was recorded in Vancouver BC and was produced by Greg Reely.
Three video clips were filmed for No Limits: Pollution, Pressure, My Dream and I. David Desrosiers replaced Pierre Bouvier in 2001 but only to stay with the band for 6 months, leaving to join Simple Plan, already consisting of two previous band members, Pierre Bouvier and Chuck Comeau.
In 2004, Reset came back with a third album : Radioactive. The album was produced, performed, mixed and mastered by Philippe Jolicoeur. The next year in 2005 RESET has a new line-up with Phil (guitars & vocals) Martin Gendreau (drums) and Claude Plamondon (bass & vocals).

Reset Lyrics

Right beside a garbage can
The last thing he remembers
Is that bottle in his hand
Hasn't had decent meal
In six or seven days
His girlfriend left him and
Now he's left with nothing left to say
They gave him a home a car almost a wife
They quickly helped him solve his problems
And made it seem like it was free
Hey man we've turned around
You work for us for now
It's now your destiny
Every morning he heads
To the temple and prays
To a god he doesn't know
And he can't push away
He feels controlled the trap is shut
He's got nowhere to go
An endless cycle is what
He has got himself into
What now?
They've got control of him
And he can't do a thing
His so called friends
Have even tried to brainwash him
There's not much he can do
He's already sucked in
Like eveyone else is
The lyrics of Reset's song "Hope" tell the story of a man who has hit rock bottom. He wakes up beside a garbage can, having lost his girlfriend and not had a real meal in days. He is given help in the form of money, a home, and job opportunities, but it comes with a catch. He finds himself in debt to his benefactors, who control his every move and have even tried to brainwash him. The man feels trapped in an endless cycle, with no escape in sight.
The lyrics are a commentary on the dark side of the American Dream. The man in the song is offered a glimmer of hope, but this hope is quickly extinguished as he becomes more and more indebted to those who helped him. The lyrics suggest that in America, success often comes at a steep price, with people being forced to give up control of their lives in exchange for a chance at a better future. Despite his attempts to break free from the control of his benefactors, the man remains trapped in the cycle of debt and manipulation.
Overall, the lyrics of "Hope" are a powerful commentary on the dangers of relying on others to achieve success. They serve as a warning to those who seek success at any cost, reminding us that there is always a price to be paid.
