He later branched off to do music production and recording. After doing this for about half a decade under his studio animosity label he created he decided to become an artist himself. He always had liked rap music but felt it never compared to metal. His idea was to bring something to rap that he felt it needed. That something was what he terms "Death-Rap" which is incorporating death metal styles into rap music such as growling, talk of the occult or ghost vs the standard rap talk of ghetto's,forties,etc. Ressurrector's music is very raw with seething vocals reminiscent of metal or death metal. As much as he is unique on the mic, his beats compliment and finish his sound. His beats go with his vocals like a hand and glove providing an actual unique sound which honestly cannot be labeled as standard horrorcore. Lyrically he seems to be a storyteller and seems to have concepts much like that of power metal. As for being just dark and gothic Ressurrector may just be one of the darkest artist there are. I think fans of metal and some rap will enjoy this. I think goths will appreciate it too.

And no, the original commenter was completely right. He didn't point at Bjorn because he was preparing him, he was also extremely proud of Bjorn during this speech. This was just after Bjorn nearly died leading men over the walls of Paris, and this was also just before Ragnar would entrust Bjorn, and Only Bjorn, with his true plan. Bjorn even helped Ragnars plan come to fruition, Ragnar seen him fit to assist him, and no one else. Bjorn was present during all the battle preparations, but had no say, and when it came to it Bjorn fought to near death for it, and as Ragnar himself said - "He was proving that you do not need a title, to be a leader.". There was a reason Ragnar didn't point at Bjorn, and it's because he didn't blame him for the others failure. It has nothing to do with Bjorns lack of a title, and everything to do with Ragnars respect for him, and lack of respect for the others.

Well, in any case Ecbert had no choice as well, because of the imminent threat of the vikings, its better to have one king to rule all instead of multiple rulers in order to defeat a large population of invaders. He is an intelligent man and has a good sense of were his talent is in acting and can therefore improve the lesser things in his acting because he is self aware of it. Travis has no interest in acting because of it's environment and also he is a humble man who knows the value of money and not be frivolous with it unlike most actors in hollywood.

I just started watching Vikings about a week ago and ran across this scene yesterday. By far my favorite scene of the show so far. Viking Jax Teller here putting his foot down for the first time with all the people who have known him as he has ascended is outstanding. Travis Fimmel's eyes always look like he is on the verge of killing 10 people then eating a little chicken/fish and taking a nap. I love the look on Bjorn's face when he is finished, true respect and awe of what his father is even as he is gravely wounded.

A leader is made of something different. This scene although fiction illustrates that well. Everybody wants to be the man, but fails to realize they aren't blessed or gifted with the vision of a leader. Ragnar allowed them to prove themselves because sometimes you need to let people show themselves why they aren't the shot caller...That in turn strengthens your power and position even more. Because they will doubt themselves and believe in you even more than they did before.

Just watched the series up to and including season 4 and WOW! This scene was fantastic. Loved how he put everyone in their place. I know this character was loosely based on the story of a real person but I sure wish he was our PM instead of the wuss who is now. Definitely wouldn't hesitate to follow this guy into battle. Looking forward to watching the next seasons if and when they come on Netflix.

I'm a new fan of the show. And something I've noticed is that Ragnar doesn't really act like a typical king. He just seems like a respected leader. Even the people arround him don't really give him the courtesies afforded to a king. He mostly just let's everyone do there own thing and he doesn't use much of his authority. I love this scene because he reminds everyone who he is.

I think Ragnar is not understood not only by his fellow Vikings but also by the viewers of the show. This is a man who started as a farmer and became Earl and later king... Impressive and many tend to think this is his primary goal. I beg to differ. He is telling the truth in this scene. He truly did not become Earl not long out of ambition, it happend because the actions of others. In the first episode of the show Ragnar tell rollo that Odin gave one of his eyes for knowledge and that Ragnar is willing to give a lot more. Ragnar was simply eager to explore more coltures and since he is a viking he cannot do it on his own and simply wonder of. In the first raid to England Ragnar took as spoils only the Christian priest, althestan. Why give up gold and riches for a simple priest? Cause the priest can give him some insight and knowledge that Ragnar is seeking of a foreign colture. Only later the Earl fears Ragnar's action are of ambition and he duels Ragnar thus the result is Ragnar killing him and becoming Earl. The sane goes for the viking king. What Ragnar is saying in this scene is I had no ambition to gain my positions and titles but as long as I am king you will give me the respect I deserve. When Ragnar sits with Bjorn and they both look at kattegat from above Ragnar asks Bjorn what he sees... Bjorn answers "power" Ragnar is then disappointed as he explains to Bjorn how power alright might seen appealing is a bad concept since it attracts the worst kind of men and corrupts the good. You can see Ragnar's frustration of his position and it is clear he does not want to rule. An implication for this is when he sits down with king eghbert and both onestly say the think they are both good rulers and corrupt as well... Both have a moment when they realize when they look at each other they are very similar yet are disgusted by what they see. When the news arive that the viking settlers where butcherd Ragnar kill the only survivor so he won't tell the Vikings what happend? Why? Cause Ragnar was eager to explore the new colture of francia and if the Vikings knew the fate of the settlement in England the expedition to francia would be suspended until further notice in order to retaliate there slaughter of the viking settlers... I think it Al shows, he was not a good leader, cause he didn't want to rule, he simply wanted to explore the world, he gained his position and titles simply out of curcimstances.

Ragnar was able to cow so many people with such dominant personalities into his court and make them fall in line. That takes talent and charisma beyond the mortal realm. Except for Rollo, everyone else still loved him even on their death bed, and stayed with him till he left.

Because Ragnar is a born leader, leader at heart...notice he's been leading his people since he was Farmer but all this Power and responsibilites had to be forced on him because of his leadership qualities and earl Haraldson, king Horrik, Jarl Borg all of them realized that and knew he was their biggest threat but what they didn't know is that he doesn't want it. But even so he had to become what he became eventually.

@Luke Skywalker The thing is that he doesn't want any of that, he would've been fine serving the earl and he had no problem doing it, all he wanted to do was just sail to different places but the earl was too scared of him.....But the earl wasn't stupid tho cause he knew Ragnar was a big threat to him whether or not he (Ragnar) had the will to become earl so the earl tried to get rid of him many times but failed and then the same with Horik. I think Ragnar did well as a King but the betrayal of Rolo is what that broke him and that (including what happened with the settlement in England) led him to say those things to Ivar, to be ruthless against everyone who stands against him, family or not or he will suffer. Ragnar realized he was a little merciful and that Negotiation means nothing Betrayal caused the down fall of Ragnar and when he returned to Kattegat he gave up on those dreams he had before and alot of viewers don't know that.

Honestly, the most subtle, epic disrespect is how Ragnar turns, steps forward, faces his brother, looks him dead in the eye and then asks his son instead of his brother, given that this same brother turned against him once already.

Troughout the series i always liked Rollo more. But now that rollo had been thrown to the sidelines in frankia i didn't feel that way anymore. Instead, the spotlight got back to ragnar on my perspective and ragnar truly was the greatest character in the series.

Never liked rollo. Almost hated him as a character.He literally had tantrum outbursts and even ended up raping an innocent girl at the start of the seasons just because of an argument with his brother Ragnar 🤦🏾‍♂️

The most beautiful piece of acting ever, I've read all the comments and agree with all of them, however, after rewatching this scene dozens of times, I can't help but wonder what the cast in the scene were thinking when this scene was taking place, I wonder if it gave them chills, but you can't really see any facial expressions of them in the background. I wonder if they were like this is beautiful, I mean even the cast such as Rolo, Bjorn, Lagertha, etc.
