I always looked at the clouds like continents
I used to see clouds like land masses on earth.

Watched the cities shift around
I noticed the cities moving and changing over time.

They don't look as far or as fast from here
From this perspective, the cities don't seem as distant or moving as quickly.

I always thought of the cities like people
I used to see cities as being like living beings.

All wrapped up in volume and grey
The cities seemed to be hidden under layers of buildings and a dull color palette.

Finding symmetry in the disarray
Despite the chaos and mess, I could see patterns and order amongst it all.

Would you look at them all lined up upon
Take a moment and observe all those perched upon.

All the telephone wires at dawn
The birds sitting on telephone wires at dawn.

Some sick grins sit on those old crows
The old crows sitting on the wires have mischievous expressions.

I have no interest in that kind of competition
I'm not interested in competing like the crows.

Wild eyes to the stars at night
My eyes are full of wonder and excitement as I look at the stars at night.

Hoping for some chance to arrive
I hope that some opportunity or possibility will present itself.

To find out its been there the whole time
Only to realize that the opportunity or possibility has always existed, I just hadn't noticed it before.
