Revelation Theory's members first met in 1997 at Merrimack College in North Andover, and all moved to New York City in 2001 hoping for a career as a band.
In 2002, bassist Matty, a student at New York University, completed the quartet. They recorded a demo EP and began touring; in 2005 they were tapped for the Girls Gone Wild Rocks America tour in 2005.
The group signed to EMI subsidiary Element Records, releasing a full-length, Truth Is Currency, in 2005 and opening on tour with Breaking Benjamin and Fall Out Boy.[1] A single from Truth Is Currency, "Slowburn", hit #27 on the US Mainstream Rock Tracks chart in 2005.
They toured the US with Saliva and Evanescence in 2006 and also toured Europe with Evanescence. In 2007, the band toured with Hinder, Papa Roach, and Buckcherry.
The now renamed Rev Theory is currently in the studio recording their sophomore album with new label Interscope Records entitled Light It Up. The release date is scheduled for June 10, 2008. Their upcoming single "Light It Up" was one of two official theme songs for World Wrestling Entertainment's WrestleMania XXIV pay-per-view event. Patrick D won the "Light It Up" contest & introduced Rev Theory on stage at Thunder Field during Wrestlemania weekend. "Hell Yeah" is the official theme song for WWE One Night Stand 2008[5]. Together, WWE and WJRR have put together an exclusive widget to promote the event. Former WWE Diva Ashley Massaro appears in the music video for "Hell Yeah." The song has also become known for being the intro song for the Detroit Red Wings hockey team as well as the Cartoon Network sporting event, SlamBall (Censored as Hey Yeah).
Rev Theory have recently announced their tour with Flyleaf and Seether.
Rev Theory has also confirmed via press release [6] that they wrote "Voices" specifically for WWE superstar Randy Orton.
Interscope Geffen A&M Records and Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, have joined forces to premiere the hard rock act Rev Theory’s new music video exclusively on the Xbox LIVE Video Store. This will make Rev Theory’s hit single “Hell Yeah” the first ever video premiere on Xbox LIVE.

After The Rain
Rev Theory Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
There's nothing left to prove
There's nothing we can say
We've counted every word
Like stars and all the moons
We've buried them away
As I promised I would
After the rain soaks through your bones
After the pain, careless and cold
We carry the life you'll never know
You cursed at all the world
And wished you never could
You cherished everything (that'll help us now)
And locked yourself into a room
And silenced the pain in your head
You couldn't cope you cut it off
And left us all
I still see the warmth you left
The lyrics of Rev Theory's song "After the Rain" seem to express the despair and desperation of a person who has stopped trying to hold on. The opening lines suggest that the person has given up: "There's nothing left to give, there's nothing left to prove." They have exhausted all their resources and have accepted their defeat. The next few lines suggest that they have tried to communicate and reason with others, but it has been fruitless: "There's nothing we can say, we've counted every word." They have even tried to bury their words and emotions, but nothing has worked.
However, later on, the lyrics indicate that the person might have taken their own life and the rest of the other lines talk about how they "silenced the pain in [their] head, cut it off, and left us all." The lyrics shift from talking about the person in the present tense to the past: "You cursed at all the world, and wished you never could, you cherished everything (that'll help us now)." This could be interpreted as someone speaking to the person who has passed on.
The chorus of the song comes in with a mournful tone, as the person left behind carries the pain, guilt, and life that the other person never got to experience. They carry the burden of the loss, and "still see the warmth [the person] left" behind. Overall, the lyrics suggest a tragic end to a person's life, leaving their loved ones behind to grieve and try to carry on.

There's nothing left to give
We have given everything we could
There's nothing left to prove
We have proved ourselves enough
There's nothing we can say
There are no words left to express
We've counted every word
We have thought over every word
Like stars and all the moons
We have reflected on all of our experiences
We've buried them away
We have kept them hidden inside ourselves
As I promised I would
As I vowed to do
After the rain soaks through your bones
After experiencing a profound sense of sadness
We carry the guilt, we carry our own
We carry on with the weight of our own guilt
After the pain, careless and cold
After feeling indifferent and uncaring
We carry the life you'll never know
We will carry on with a life that you will never experience
You cursed at all the world
You were angry at the world
And wished you never could
And wished you could take it all back
You cherished everything (that'll help us now)
You valued everything that will benefit us now
And locked yourself into a room
And isolated yourself from the world
And silenced the pain in your head
And suppressed the pain in your mind
You couldn't cope you cut it off
You couldn't handle it and disconnected yourself
And left us all
And left all of us behind
I still see the warmth you left
I can still feel the positive impact you had on us
