Revelation Theory's members first met in 1997 at Merrimack College in North Andover, and all moved to New York City in 2001 hoping for a career as a band.
In 2002, bassist Matty, a student at New York University, completed the quartet. They recorded a demo EP and began touring; in 2005 they were tapped for the Girls Gone Wild Rocks America tour in 2005.
The group signed to EMI subsidiary Element Records, releasing a full-length, Truth Is Currency, in 2005 and opening on tour with Breaking Benjamin and Fall Out Boy.[1] A single from Truth Is Currency, "Slowburn", hit #27 on the US Mainstream Rock Tracks chart in 2005.
They toured the US with Saliva and Evanescence in 2006 and also toured Europe with Evanescence. In 2007, the band toured with Hinder, Papa Roach, and Buckcherry.
The now renamed Rev Theory is currently in the studio recording their sophomore album with new label Interscope Records entitled Light It Up. The release date is scheduled for June 10, 2008. Their upcoming single "Light It Up" was one of two official theme songs for World Wrestling Entertainment's WrestleMania XXIV pay-per-view event. Patrick D won the "Light It Up" contest & introduced Rev Theory on stage at Thunder Field during Wrestlemania weekend. "Hell Yeah" is the official theme song for WWE One Night Stand 2008[5]. Together, WWE and WJRR have put together an exclusive widget to promote the event. Former WWE Diva Ashley Massaro appears in the music video for "Hell Yeah." The song has also become known for being the intro song for the Detroit Red Wings hockey team as well as the Cartoon Network sporting event, SlamBall (Censored as Hey Yeah).
Rev Theory have recently announced their tour with Flyleaf and Seether.
Rev Theory has also confirmed via press release [6] that they wrote "Voices" specifically for WWE superstar Randy Orton.
Interscope Geffen A&M Records and Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, have joined forces to premiere the hard rock act Rev Theory’s new music video exclusively on the Xbox LIVE Video Store. This will make Rev Theory’s hit single “Hell Yeah” the first ever video premiere on Xbox LIVE.

Far From Over
Rev Theory Lyrics

There was a brighter day
Where I could view the world
Without the sorrows that I've known (what if I could feel)
Now it's a different place
Memories fade away
Without a trace
But there's a shadow
My eyes are closing softly (I never wanted to be)
Inside these walls I fade away (I never wanted to be)
Still holding on 'cause this is
[Chorus: ]
Far from over
I won't say goodnight
My heart's grown colder
Waiting for the sun to rise again
Crawling closer
So save your kiss goodbye
It's far from over
I won't fear anymore
Wait
I know it's not too late
Even though the innocence is scarred
There's still tomorrow (what if I could see)
I could just escape
Close my eyes and dream about
A sentimental vision
A vision I could feel
This time I won't go softly (I never wanted to be)
Refuse to simply fade away (I never wanted to be)
Still holding on 'cause this is
[Chorus: ]
What if I could feel
What if I could see (what if I could see)
Again
It's far from over
And I am crawling closer
[Chorus: ]
Far from over
Far from over (waiting for the sun)
Far from over
I won't fear anymore
In Rev Theory's song Far From Over, the lyrics capture the struggle of maintaining hope and fighting to move forward. The singer reflects on happier moments of the past where they viewed the world without sorrows and longs to feel that way again. Memories fade away without a trace, but the shadow of their struggles still lingers. Despite feeling like fading away would be easier, the singer refuses to go softly and holds on to the hope that there is still another brighter day ahead.
The chorus of the song is an encapsulation of this message, with the singer repeating that it's far from over, that they won't say goodnight or fear anymore. The lyrics express the need to crawl closer to the light, to wait for the sun to rise again. The bridge section of the song acknowledges the damage that has been done and the scars left behind, but still holds on to hope for a brighter future, where the singer could feel and see again.
Overall, the song Far From Over is an anthem for perseverance in tough times, while acknowledging the difficulties of the past. It's a message of hope and determination that encourages listeners to hold on and wait for a brighter future.

Wait
Hold on a moment
There was a brighter day
I remember a time when the world was better for me
Where I could view the world
I was able to look at the world
Without the sorrows that I've known
Without any of the pains and difficulties that I have experienced
Now it's a different place
Things have changed since then
Memories fade away
I am starting to forget some of the things that happened
Without a trace
They disappear completely
But there's a shadow
Still, I feel something haunting me
A shadow I can't feel
Even though I sense its presence, I cannot touch it
My eyes are closing softly
I am gently closing my eyes
Inside these walls I fade away
I am disappearing within the walls around me
Still holding on 'cause this is
I am not giving up yet and fighting through the pain
Far from over
This is not the end
I won't say goodnight
I refuse to accept defeat and give up
My heart's grown colder
My heart has become hardened because of what I have been through
Waiting for the sun to rise again
I am waiting for a better time to come
Crawling closer
I am slowly making progress
So save your kiss goodbye
Don't say goodbye, there is still hope
I won't fear anymore
I refuse to be afraid anymore
I know it's not too late
I realize that there is still time
Even though the innocence is scarred
Even though I have been hurt and lost my naïveté
There's still tomorrow
There is always a chance for a new day
I could just escape
I could try to run away from this reality
Close my eyes and dream about
I can imagine something better with my eyes closed
A sentimental vision
A hopeful and emotional possibility
This time I won't go softly
I will not give up easily this time
Refuse to simply fade away
I refuse to disappear without a fight
What if I could feel
What if I could experience something positive
What if I could see
What if I could truly understand the good things around me
It's far from over
There is still a long way to go
And I am crawling closer
But I am making progress one step at a time
Far from over (waiting for the sun)
This journey is not over yet and I am waiting for a better time
Far from over
This is just the beginning of the fight
I won't fear anymore
I am not afraid to face what's coming next
