Revengine saw the light of day on early 2007. Hailing from Lapua Finland, this Alice In Chains / Therapy? / Faith No More-influenced heavy grunge group has received abundant praise with their releases.
What is special about Revengine is that with the multi-sounds of the band (guitarist & vocalist Antti Jokiranta / bassist Juha Järvelä / drummer Jouni Yli-Rantala / guitarist Mirko Honkanen), they can reach grunge-rockers and metal fans alike.
After releasing two EP´s Revengine put out their debut album “Why Follow Road So Narrow” on 2014 in collaboration with producer Ari Laurila (known from Apulanta / Klamydia / SubUrbanTribe). From that album, a psychologically multilayered music video “EOL” was directed and it was extremely well received. On early 2018 the fresh and heavy pounding single ’Lust’ was released from their upcoming album.
Revengine is a band that are at their best when seen live and the feeling of their music can be experienced. Today, an extensive touring history of more than a hundred shows has refined the band’s character even further.
Second single release ’Diminish’ from the upcoming album is out on August 16th.

I will be fooled once again and i feel
You think you´re so much better, better than me
But you knew - you knew wrong - again
When I´m walking down this road
I will do what I´ve been told; never walk around, walk around the door
I will do what I´ve been told; never lose control
They will do it once again and i feel
I will be fooled once again and i feel
You think you´re so much better, better than me
But you knew - you are wrong - again
When I´m walking down this road
I will do what I´ve been told; never walk around, walk around the door
I will do what I´ve been told; never lose control
When I walk around, walk around the door
When I´m walking down this road
I will do what I´ve been told; never walk around, walk around the door
I will do what I´ve been told; never lose control
When I walk around, walk around the door
The lyrics of "I Know" by Revengine narrate the feeling of betrayal and deception. The singer expresses the belief that they will be fooled again, possibly by the same person or people, and that they feel powerless against it. The line "You think you're so much better, better than me" suggests that there is a power dynamic at play, where the singer may be at a disadvantage compared to the person who has fooled them in the past. However, the singer also declares that they will make a conscious effort not to lose control and not to walk around the door, indicating that they will not let themselves be taken advantage of again.
The chorus repeats the opening lines of the song, emphasizing the singer's sense of inevitability and helplessness in the situation. The repeated lines also suggest a cyclical nature to the betrayal, almost as if it's a pattern that keeps repeating itself. The resolve in the singer's voice when they declare that they will not lose control, however, suggests that they are determined to break the cycle and to protect themselves from further harm.
Overall, the lyrics of "I Know" provide a poignant commentary on the vulnerability of trust and the emotional toll of being deceived. It speaks to anyone who has ever been betrayed, hurt or let down, and encourages them to take charge of their own lives and to not let others control their emotions.
