The band was founded in Hamburg as Manga in 2003, later changed it to Tsunamikiller and adopted their current name by the end of 2004.
In 2006, they participated in „Bundesvision Song Contest“ (a parody of the „Eurovision Song Contest“) and got Bremen the second place of all 16 Bundesländer (States).
The song Generation Rock was included as a bonus track in the game Guitar Hero 3.

Dieses Lied erinnert mich immer an den Winter 2015/2016. Für mich wohl der kälteste Winter den ich je erlebt habe. Ich war im Auslandeinsatz als Soldat und hatte eine Freundin. Ihr könnt euch vorstellen wie schwer es ist über tausende Kilometer Kontakt zu halten. Doch verdammt, ich hab ihr jeden Tag geschrieben, so oft es ging geskyped. Trotzdem war es nicht genug. Sie hat sich immer von mir entfernt, bis sie sich dann kurz vor meinem Geburtstag von mir getrennt hat...
Am Tag war ich der furchtlose Soldat, der abderen Mut zugesprochen hat und in der Nacht habe ich zu diesem Lied geweint... hab etwas nachgetrauert, dass ich nie mehr erreichen konnte...
ja es war der kälteste Winter überhaupt... der grösste Verlust war aber nicht sie... es war ein Kamerad der im Einsatz sein Leben liess... Ruhe in Frieden, Bruder. Semper Magnus.
