Slow Motion
Rhubarb Lyrics

Lost your wheels,
Went speeding round the bend
You're so unlucky,
A million trees,
Could never break your fall, or slow you down
CHORUS:
Falling in slow motion, falling slow,
You're falling, you're failing
You're trying, you're trailing
You do what you can but we're all going to fade in slow motion.
You're so unhappy,
Raise your hands,
And wave it to someone
To see you buried,
A million spades,
Could never dig you out, or lift you up.
CHORUS X2
In "Slow Motion" by Rhubarb, the singer speaks about someone who has lost their way and is going through a tough time. The lyrics "Lost your wheels, Went speeding round the bend" suggest that the person has made a mistake, and their life is going out of control. However, no matter how many trees they hit, they keep going, unwilling to let anything stop them. The line "A million trees, could never break your fall or slow you down" implies that they are unstoppable, and it would take something monumental to bring them to a halt.
The chorus of the song drives home the message of hopelessness, with lyrics like "You're falling, you're failing, You're trying, you're trailing." The imagery of "falling in slow motion" perhaps suggests that the person's life is falling apart slowly, and they are powerless to stop it. Despite how much they do, or how hard they try, they cannot change their inevitable fate, which will all eventually "fade in slow motion."
In the second verse, the singer describes the person as being unhappy and wanting someone to help them. The line "A million spades, Could never dig you out, or lift you up" illustrates that there seems to be no point in trying to help this person. Whatever the situation they are in, it seems to be hopeless, and no amount of effort can save them.
Overall, "Slow Motion" is a powerful song that highlights the feelings of hopelessness and despair when things seem to be out of control. It reminds us of the importance of taking charge of our own lives and dealing with what is within our control, rather than focusing too much on the things that we cannot change.

So, I finally got around to making another one of these. It's has a completely different sound and feel to it, but still turned out really nice. It's very haunting and a bit harrowing. Give it a try and see what you think.

I had a strange moment a while ago where I was concussed playing a football match and was knocked out cold. When I was knocked out I had a strange dream I was in a grassy field, having a BBQ and camping with loved ones a beautiful sunny day. Mom and Dad sharing a joke, my arm around my girlfriend, my younger brother playing football with his friend, my girlfriend's parents enjoying a glass of wine together and my grandparents (who have been dead for quite sometime) singing together, smiling and holding hands. When all this was happening, I could've sworn the only sound I was hearing was this beautiful song playing in the background.
When I awoke, I was surrounded by around 10-15 people, including my mom, all panicking and I had no idea what was going on. I just wanted to go back to that beautiful scene. I don't remember much after that, all I know is that I was rushed to hospital and that I didn't regaine my memory until a day or two after.
It put things into perspective for me. Life is beautiful, no matter how bad it seems. Out there, somewhere, there is somewhere that you can call heaven. You just have to find it. Don't take life for granted either, just try find the beauty in your life and cherish it.

Mate, thank you for sharing. That was beautiful fella. I had a similar experience when I passed out after standing up too quickly and knocked my head on the way down. I woke up to my friend slapping me on the cheek and I could have sworn this exact sound was playing and I was in a wheat field with a blue sky drenched in heavenly light. When I came to lying on the ground, grinning like an idiot just wishing I could go back. Life is funny
