Never giving you reprieve
And your circumstance is a sinner's dance
Gotta fight what you believe
You've been infected, you lost respect and
And now you're wanting out
That nagging voice has come to bite you
There's nowhere to run, there's nowhere to hide
From what's in your mind, it's a ghetto
There's nowhere to run, there's nowhere to hide
From what's in your mind, better let go
Will they crucify and you justify
Never giving up your gun
For an empty chance at a loaded dance
Spinning circles watch them run
Your soul is worn, your will is torn
There's nothing you won't do
Deaf to your cries, your savior's blind
'Cause this state of mind, who will save you?
There's nowhere to run, there's nowhere to hide
From what's in your mind, it's a ghetto
There's nowhere to run, there's nowhere to hide
It's all in your mind, better let go
There's nowhere to run, there's nowhere to hide
From what's in your mind, it's a ghetto
There's nowhere to run, there's nowhere to hide
It's all in your mind, you better let go
There's nowhere to run, there's nowhere to hide
There's nowhere to go, your mind can set you free
There's nowhere to run, your mind can set you free
There's nowhere to run, there's nowhere to hide
From what's in your mind, it's a ghetto
There's nowhere to run, there's nowhere to hide
It's all in your mind, you better let go
There's nowhere to run, there's nowhere to hide
From what's in your mind, it's a ghetto
There's nowhere to run, there's nowhere to hide
It's all in your mind, you better let go
There's nowhere to run, there's nowhere to hide
From what's in your mind
There's nowhere to run, there's nowhere to hide
It's all in your mind
There's nowhere to run, your mind can set you free
The lyrics to Rhythm Masters' song "The Ghetto" depict a situation where someone is trapped in a cycle of poverty, violence, and desperation. The first verse describes the hopeless situation that the person finds themselves in - a father who lies, a mother who cries, and a life that feels like a never-ending sin. The second verse talks about the consequences of being trapped in such a situation - feeling infected, losing respect for oneself, and wanting to escape. However, the person also finds themselves unable to do so, as they are constantly haunted by the "nagging voice" in their mind. The chorus repeats the message that there is "nowhere to run" and "nowhere to hide" from the mental prison that has been created.
The third verse describes the person's desperation and willingness to do anything to escape the situation. They are willing to fight and even kill for a chance at a better life. However, their soul is worn and their will is torn, and they feel like there is no one to save them. The final chorus repeats the message that the only way to escape is to let go of the mental chains that have been created and free oneself from the ghetto that exists in their own mind.
Overall, "The Ghetto" is a powerful song that touches on important issues of poverty, violence, and mental health. It encourages listeners to confront their own mental struggles and take steps to free themselves from their own personal ghettos.

Loved this song for probably over 20 damn years now.first heard it on a compilation CD put together by URB magazine back-in-the-day called "URBal BEATS". Me and my brother used to jam that cd hard then started to go to raves and heard it played at dime of those. When we negan to dejay we used to bang it (along with daft punk , dj feelgood, chemical bros, roni size, carl cox ,deisel boy ,hip hop and trip hop and other albums or discs we had between the 2 of us) at clubs and parties we dont do any of that anymore just play good music at a party. But from then the even now they're busy. I haven't heard it but I pretty much banged this damn song for the last few decades (late 90's) . And I still love it each time but I notice of course the more time I go without listening to it when I hear it again I appreciate it more and it's still touches a nerve because of the content of the song. And away in the way she sings it it sounds it sounds nice, but the ghettos really no damn joke to know that and have been there makes you appreciate the hell out the song even more! Jamaica Queens,New York Rough as Fuck also fun as fuck beautiful as fuck also ugly as fuck! If I hadn't left when I was younger I don't know if I'd be alive today if I had never left. I miss it but now that I'm older I appreciate that I didn't stay. life could have been very very different. He bought the place still has my heart and home is where the heart Is. That's why I fuck with real ass hip-hop especially from the 90s and early 2000's. Almost almost all that shit was authentic vs. Today's Bullshit. Even the damn r n b music. Listen to all songs from other genres went hard and had a message behind them like this one! Even though this is a dance song it's got some depth! And i probably would never heard of the rhythm Masters until I heard this. I love the album "DISCONNECT YOUR HEAD!" Fuckin way ahead of their time!
