Wah-ah-ah-ah
Wah-ah-ah-ah
Get up, come on get down with the sickness
Get up, come on get down with the sickness
Get up, come on get down with the sickness
Get up, come on get down with the sickness
You mother, get up, come on get down with the sickness
You fucker, get up, come on get down with the sickness
Madness is the gift that has been given to me
I can see inside you the sickness is rising
It seems that all that was good has died
Oh no, the world is a scary place
Now that you've woken up the demon in me, in me
Wah-ah-ah
Get up, come on get down with the sickness
You mother, get up, come on get down with the sickness
You fucker, get up, come on get down with the sickness
Open up your hate and let it flow into me
Why can't you just buck up and die?
Get down with the sickness
Fuck you, I don't need this shit
Get down with the sickness
You stupid, sadistic, abusive fucking whore
Get down with the sickness
Here it comes
Get ready to die
Get ready to, die
The lyrics of Richard Cheese's song "Down With the Sickness" explores themes of anger, madness, and hatred. This is immediately evident through the use of vulgar language and aggressive tone in the lines "Get up, come on get down with the sickness, You mother, get up, come on get down with the sickness, You fucker, get up, come on get down with the sickness." The repetition of the phrase 'get up' offers a sense of urgency and desperation, perhaps signalling the need for an emotional release. The line "Why can't you just buck up and die?" reiterates the negative emotions that the singer has been feeling, while the phrase "You stupid, sadistic, abusive fucking whore" illustrates the singer's aggression towards the person who has caused his sickness.
The line "Open up your hate and let it flow into me" can be interpreted as a call for someone to share their negative emotions with the singer so that he can feel a sense of belonging in their mutual sickness. The phrase "Madness is the gift that has been given to me" suggests that the singer has embraced his anger and believes it to be a part of his identity. Overall, the lyrics of "Down With the Sickness" express a desire to break free of societal expectations and embrace one's true emotions, even if they may be considered negative.
