Richard Gotainer Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
{Refrain:}
Caféine
Moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu
Petit moka tu m'as moulu
Moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu
Petit moka tu m'as moulu
Est poursuivi par un kawa {x2}
{au Refrain}
Au moment pile où je m'endors
Je finis par me réveiller
Caféine
Moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu
Petit moka tu m'as moulu.
Ça finit debout sur le lit
Possédé par le cha-cha-cha
Caféine
Moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu
Petit moka tu m'as moulu
In Richard Gotainer's song "Caféine," the lyrics describe the negative effects of caffeine on the singer's ability to sleep. The song begins with the singer in bed, trying to fall asleep but unable to due to the effects of caffeine. He then falls asleep, only to be abruptly awakened by the effects of caffeine once again. The singer expresses frustration with coffee and its "treacherous" effects, calling it a "traitor" and a "damn coffee."
The chorus of the song repeats the word "Caféine" and describes the physical and mental toll it takes on the singer. He feels defeated, saying "I am crushed, I am done." Additionally, he warns of the dangers of drinking too much coffee, as it can lead to insomnia and uncontrollable movements, as he describes being "possessed by the cha-cha-cha."
Overall, the lyrics of "Caféine" convey the negative effects of caffeine on the body and mind, particularly in regards to sleep and rest.

Le tête en croix, dans mes chaussons,
J'aspirais fort à l'allongeade
I was lying in bed with my head and feet crossed, longing for a deep stretch.
Little did I know there was a trap waiting for me under the duvet.
Je me voyais parti pour la nuit
Tant ma fatigue était énorme
J'en étais tombé sur le lit
Comme un tampon de chloroforme.
I thought I was going to sleep all night, being exhausted to the point of falling onto my bed like a chloroformed cushion.
Just as I was about to fall asleep, I suddenly woke up with my eyes wide open and my body fully alert, realizing that I had had one cup of coffee too many. It's always the same story: caffeine sneaks up from behind in the dead of night, turning me into its traitorous victim.
Caffeine never fails to choose the perfect time to strike. That darned coffee and its companion, the percolator, are always the culprits. I despise them both. Just when I think I'm drifting off to sleep, I'm jolted awake as if by an emergency brake. I hate that little cup of coffee that ruined my night.
{Refrain:}
Caféine
Moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu
Petit moka tu m'as moulu
Moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu
Petit moka tu m'as moulu
Je suis moulu je suis foutu.
Chorus:
Caffeine,
Ground, ground, ground, ground, ground, ground,
Little mocha, you've ground me down.
Ground, ground, ground, ground, ground, ground,
Little mocha, you've ground me down.
I'm done for, I'm finished.
Malheur à celui qui la nuit
A des retours de robusta
Des insomnies pur Colombie
La fièvre de l'arabica
Ça finit debout sur le lit
Possédé par le cha-cha-cha
Malheur à celui qui la nuit
Est poursuivi par un kawa {x2}
Woe to him who at night experiences the effects of strong coffee, whether it be the robusta's comeback, Colombian insomnia, or the arabica fever. It all ends with one dancing on top of the bed, possessed by the cha-cha-cha. Curse him who is pursued at night by a cup of coffee.
Au moment pile où je m'endors
Je finis par me réveiller
Just as I am on the verge of sleeping, I end up waking up.
Caféine
Moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu
Petit moka tu m'as moulu.
Caffeine,
Ground, ground, ground, ground, ground, ground,
Little mocha, you've ground me down.
Ça finit debout sur le lit
Possédé par le cha-cha-cha
It all ends with one dancing on top of the bed, possessed by the cha-cha-cha.
Caféine
Moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu, moulu
Petit moka tu m'as moulu
On croit s'assoupir en sursaut

Caféine...
Caffeine,
Ground, ground, ground, ground, ground, ground,
Little mocha, you've ground me down.
We think we're dozing off and suddenly we're jolted awake as if by an emergency brake.
