Il démarra sa vie professionnelle dans une agence de publicité. Au fil des ans, il créa dans l'ombre de célèbres tubes publicitaires dont les mémorables M-V ("M-m-m... pour maroquinier" ; "V-v-v... comme voyage", pour le collectif des maroquiniers), Vittel (Buvez, éliminez), Infinitif, Banga (Y'a des fruits, y'a de l'eau), Belle des champs ("Tu baguenaudes dans les pâturages ..."), Choco BN ("Il est 4 heures ..."), Saupiquet (Couscous) ou Danette ("On se lève tous pour Danette !").
Aussi célèbres que furent ses publicités, c'est surtout la chanson de variété qui l'a fait connaître du grand public français, à partir de 1980. Durant toutes les années 1980, ses tubes électroniques dansants, aux arrangements loufoques et facétieux, seront massivement diffusés sur les radios françaises. Les enfants (aujourd'hui adultes !) représentèrent une part importante de son public.
