Travelin' Man
Rick Nelson Lyrics
I'm a travelin' man
I've made a lot of stops all over the world
And in every part I own the heart
Of at least one lovely girl
I've a pretty Seniorita waiting for me
Down in old Mexico
If you're ever in Alaska stop and see
My cute little Eskimo
Makes my heart start to yearn
And my China doll down in old Hong Kong
Waits for my return
Pretty Polynesian baby over the sea
I remember the night
When we walked in the sands of the Waikiki
And I held you oh so tight
Oh my sweet Fraulien down in Berlin town
Makes my heart start to yearn
And my China doll down in old Hong Kong
Waits for my return
Pretty Polynesian baby over the sea
I remember the night
When we walked in the sands of the Waikiki
And I held you oh so tight
Oh, I'm a travelin' man
Yes, I'm a travelin' man

You Know My Name
I'm a travelin' man and I've made a lot of stops
All over the world
And in every part I own the heart
Of at least one lovely girl
I've a pretty Señorita waiting for me
Down in old Mexico
If you're ever in Alaska stop and see
My cute little Eskimo
Oh, my sweet Fraulein down in Berlin town
Makes my heart start to yearn
And my China doll down in old Hong Kong

Oh, my sweet Fraulien down in Berlin town

Pretty Polynesian baby over the sea
I remember the night
When we walked in the sands of the Waikiki
And I held you, oh so tight
Oh, I'm a travelin' man
Yes, I'm a travelin' man
Yes, I'm a travelin' man
Whoa, I'm a travelin' man

This hit from Ricky Nelson went to #1 on the Top 40 charts, the Cash Box charts, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. It went to #2 in the United Kingdom. It would finish at #23 for the year, 1961. The numbers get smaller and the hits get bigger. Who will be #1? Will Percy Faith repeat? Or will a new act take the torch? Stay tuned.

Although I was born in the 1990's, I can tell that Ricky Nelson was one heck of a man. Never heard this song until my high school years. We need more people who still makes these kinda music, classy and catchy!
