Find
Ridgewalkers Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

They always leave the best 'till last
Have understanding, no questions asked
You find yourself in what you see
You found yourself in me..

You found yourself in me..
The day is short, the night is cool
And this night, it was made for fools
You won't find fools like me and you
I found myself in you..

You found.. yourself..
You found.. yourself..

Overall Meaning

The opening line of the song 'Find' by Ridgewalkers, "They always leave the best 'till last," reflects on how some people tend to take the good things in their life for granted, not realizing their true value until they are about to lose them. The following line, "Have understanding, no questions asked," urges the listener to approach life with empathy and a willingness to understand others without judgment. The singer then sings, "You find yourself in what you see/You found yourself in me," emphasizing the idea that we often see ourselves reflected in the people we love, and we find parts of ourselves in them that we may not have known existed before.

The second half of the song tells the story of two lovers who are living in the moment, enjoying a short but sweet night together. The line "And this night, it was made for fools" suggests that they know that their behavior may seem reckless or impulsive, but they are happy to embrace the moment regardless. The singer then sings, "You won't find fools like me and you/I found myself in you," suggesting that despite their carefree attitude, they have a deep understanding of each other and themselves through their relationship.

Overall, the song 'Find' by Ridgewalkers is a thoughtful reflection on the way we see ourselves in the people we love, and the importance of appreciating the good things in our lives before it's too late.

I never comment on here but this is such a fantastic track. An old Steve May set reminded me of it. I remember seeing you play Godskitchen in Bham - great memories.
That period around 2004, the music was incredible with Andy Moor, Subsky, David West, Matthew Dekay, Perry O'Neil, Max Graham.. and more that I've probably forgotten about. Wish that music was still being produced now.
