From their inception, Righteous Vendetta has never been comfortable with sitting still. After releasing two full-length albums on Red Cord Records and touring extensively on that material, they decided it was time for a change. “We finished our 2011 release Lawless and started thinking what we were going to do next. After some ideas were tossed around, we decided to try something that would really challenge our songwriting skills and push us to our creative limits. So we took the intensity and high-energy of our older metalcore sound and tried to take it in a more appealing direction”, writes guitarist Justin Olmstead. The result of this new direction was their single “This Pain”, which spent fifteen weeks in the Top 20 on Billboard’s Christian Rock chart. Since then they’ve hit the ground running with the independently released Righteous Vendetta, Vol. I. Though the band’s style has changed with their latest release, their brand of hook-infused rock has found fans on the airwaves and at venues throughout the country. Their newest single, “The Fire Inside”, has spent more than a dozen weeks on the Christian Rock chart, peaking at #9 and sharing the Top 10 with the likes of Skillet, Red, and P.O.D.
Even after nearly a thousand shows to date, the band’s touring schedule is as busy as ever. Last year, Righteous Vendetta made their performance debut in Europe, playing to packed venues in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland, and more. This year they’ve already supported Hurt and Smile Empty Soul as the first installment in a series of major tours, followed by runs with Trapt, Taproot, and 10 Years, playing more than sixty dates with some of the biggest names in hard rock.
The band recently recorded their third full-length record The Fire Inside with Milwaukee-based producer Joel Wanasek at JTW Studios. “The new record is sure to be one of the biggest, hardest hitting mixes in the genre,” said vocalist Ryan Hayes. “It’s heavy, catchy, melodic, and will have you singing every chorus after the first time you hear it.” Armed with a melodic, infectious sound and a habit of hitting venues across the nation hard, fast, and often, Righteous Vendetta is destined to make waves. Look for their new record The Fire Inside this fall.
Cursed

I feel a curse
I feel a blessing
I feel a curse
I feel your voice circling around my head (around my head)
I think I'm cursed!
Is the blood on your hand
I wanna believe there's more to you than this
Cursed!
Your word spoken
Never giving in
I want to listen but your whispers are poison
You know my tendencies
You know I'll fall
I can't get away when everywhere I turn I see your bloody hands waiting
For me to grab ahold
Get a taste of the darkness, a grasp of your world
I think I'm cursed!
Is the blood on your hand
I feel you reaching in
I wanna believe there's more to you than this
Cursed!
Your word spoken
Never giving in
I want to listen but your whispers are poison
I spent my whole life in your hands
I kept my promise to the bitter end
I think I'm cursed!
Cursed!
I think I'm cursed!
Is the blood on your hand
I feel you reaching in
I wanna believe there's more to you than this
Cursed!
Your word spoken
Never giving in
I want to listen but your whispers are poison
I want to listen but your whispers are poison
I want to listen but your whispers are poison
You've once spoken never giving in
I want to listen but your whispers are poison
The song "Cursed" by Righteous Vendetta is a reflection of looking back at a past relationship that turned out to be a curse despite feeling like a blessing at first. The singer is torn between their feelings of being connected to the other person but also feeling like they have been poisoned by their words and actions. The lyrics "Is the blood on your hand, I feel you reaching in" suggest that the other person has hurt the singer in a way that they cannot escape from, and the imagery of "bloody hands" surrounding them represents the inescapable feeling of being cursed.
The singer is aware of their own flaws and tendencies and feels trapped in this toxic relationship, with no escape as they are constantly reminded of the other person. The last verse is a reflection of the singer being unable to break free from the other person's grasp and looking back on the time they spent together, realizing that they were cursed from the start.
Overall, "Cursed" is a powerful song that captures the pain and difficulty of being in a toxic relationship that has become a curse. The song urges the listener to be aware of the signs of toxicity in a relationship and to make sure to take care of themselves before it's too late.

great stuff, how can anyone dislike this?????
Zaiko Haitsugi
Listening to those three songs they released till now, it seems they give off a Hybrid Theory's Linkin Park kinda style. And that's exactly what I'm looking for, LP's earlier style was so damn perfect. I personally hope they keep up like that.
