From their inception, Righteous Vendetta has never been comfortable with sitting still. After releasing two full-length albums on Red Cord Records and touring extensively on that material, they decided it was time for a change. “We finished our 2011 release Lawless and started thinking what we were going to do next. After some ideas were tossed around, we decided to try something that would really challenge our songwriting skills and push us to our creative limits. So we took the intensity and high-energy of our older metalcore sound and tried to take it in a more appealing direction”, writes guitarist Justin Olmstead. The result of this new direction was their single “This Pain”, which spent fifteen weeks in the Top 20 on Billboard’s Christian Rock chart. Since then they’ve hit the ground running with the independently released Righteous Vendetta, Vol. I. Though the band’s style has changed with their latest release, their brand of hook-infused rock has found fans on the airwaves and at venues throughout the country. Their newest single, “The Fire Inside”, has spent more than a dozen weeks on the Christian Rock chart, peaking at #9 and sharing the Top 10 with the likes of Skillet, Red, and P.O.D.
Even after nearly a thousand shows to date, the band’s touring schedule is as busy as ever. Last year, Righteous Vendetta made their performance debut in Europe, playing to packed venues in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland, and more. This year they’ve already supported Hurt and Smile Empty Soul as the first installment in a series of major tours, followed by runs with Trapt, Taproot, and 10 Years, playing more than sixty dates with some of the biggest names in hard rock.
The band recently recorded their third full-length record The Fire Inside with Milwaukee-based producer Joel Wanasek at JTW Studios. “The new record is sure to be one of the biggest, hardest hitting mixes in the genre,” said vocalist Ryan Hayes. “It’s heavy, catchy, melodic, and will have you singing every chorus after the first time you hear it.” Armed with a melodic, infectious sound and a habit of hitting venues across the nation hard, fast, and often, Righteous Vendetta is destined to make waves. Look for their new record The Fire Inside this fall.
Weight of the World

Give me truth I'm unseen to believe
Something ever after from the asked, believe me
Trying every pain weight of the world
Come crashing down in the remains
Looking for the save me place, weight of the world
Weight of the world, crashing down the truth remains
Something to the truth your sleeping is my head
Taking the first light I won't everything they said
Darkened motions on the self-reflect to feel
To feel I don't written, standing my weight of the world, weight of the world
Trying every pain weight of the world
Come crashing down in the remains
Looking for the save me place, weight of the world
Weight of the world, crashing down the truth remains
Save me goodnight your take me price my better days
Where you calling, my come undone
Trying every pain weight of the world
Come crashing down in the remains
Trying every pain weight of the world
Come crashing down in the remains
Looking for the save me place, weight of the world
Weight of the world, crashing down the truth remains
Weight of the world, crashing down the truth remains
Weight of the world, crashing down the truth remains
The lyrics to Righteous Vendetta's song "Weight of the World" seem to explore the idea of feeling burdened and struggling to find a sense of truth or purpose. The opening lines suggest a desire to live a safe life, but without the truth, it is difficult to believe in anything worthwhile. The following lines suggest a longing for something more permanent or everlasting, but it is unclear what that is. The chorus repeats the phrase "weight of the world" and describes it as a painful burden that crashes down on the singer, leaving them searching for a safe haven.
The verses then delve into more abstract concepts, like the idea of someone else's sleeping being in the singer's head and the singer's inability to feel written emotions. These lines express a sense of detachment or dissociation and suggest a struggle to connect with others or with one's own emotions. The chorus repeats again, emphasizing the overwhelming weight of the world and the search for a safe space. The final lines suggest a plea for help or salvation from someone else, but it is unclear whether that person can actually provide relief.
Overall, "Weight of the World" seems to be a song about feeling lost and weighed down by the burdens of life, but also searching for a way to find meaning and purpose. The repeated line "weight of the world" underscores the intensity of these emotions and how difficult it is to escape them.

It's hard to believe in who I am these days
The hole within me is getting too deep
I am who I am, I know it's hard to believe
My words as a weapon triggered my faith in me (in me!)
Trying to breathe
But the weight of the world is crushing down on me
Looking for a sense of release
But the weight of the world
The weight of the world is crushing down on me
There's nothing I can do to keep these thoughts in my head
Don't take it personal I never mean what I say
But it's hard to keep your mouth shut when the world is at your throat
Hard to understand your point of view
When my only view is at the end of the rope (I'm at the end of my rope)
Trying to breathe
But the weight of the world is crushing down on me
Looking for a sense of release
But the weight of the world
The weight of the world is crushing down on me
If only I could unwind, forget the world for a day
I'd be much better off than this
But it's never too late
To get where I need to go
And use the weight of the world
Trying to breathe
But the weight of the world is crushing down on me
Trying to breathe
But the weight of the world is crushing down on me
Looking for a sense of release
But the weight of the world
The weight of the world is crushing down on me (the weight of the world)
The weight of the world is crushing down on
The weight of the world is crushing down on me
