Formed in late 2002, Seattle's Rishloo continue to gain wide-spread recognition for their dynamic sound, thought-provoking lyrics and intense live performance. Often compared to bands like Dredg, The Mars Volta, Tool, and Fair to Midland, Rishloo strives to push the envelope of psychedelic, progressive art-rock, drawing inspiration from classic artists like The Beatles, David Bowie, and Pink Floyd, while incorporating the modern experimentation and emotional depth of artists such as Tori Amos, Deftones, Radiohead, Porcupine Tree, and more.
In February 2012 the band announced that Andrew, the vocalist, decided to leave the band, this being the unexpected end of Rishloo. The remaining members briefly formed the band The Ghost Apparatus, until late in 2013 when Andrew and the band rejoined forces. On October 10th 2013 the band announced that they had decided to move forward making music as Rishloo.
Continuing as they have since their inception as an entirely independent venture, Rishloo have sold 5,500+ units of their debut album, Terras Fames (2004) and 9,500+ units of their sophomore effort, Eidolon (2007) while attracting tens of thousands of fans online from around the globe. Interest in the band continues to grow exponentially on sites such as Myspace, Facebook, YouTube, ReverbNation, and Last.FM.
With a lot of hard work and much appreciated help from their fans, Rishloo continue to travel and perform whenever possible throughout the U.S. and parts of Canada. In the course of their adventures, they have been privileged to share the stage with artists like Karnivool, Papa Roach, Fair to Midland, Ashes Divide, Sevendust, Trapt, Strata, and Judas Priest.
The band's latest effort, Living as Ghosts with Buildings as Teeth, was released December 2014.

I was out wandering with gods
What? Are you mad at me?
Some other reason leaves to me instilled
Like a madman, I'll defend the end of the world as ennui
Who said a little upper won't help you find your way to the light?
Subtlety, denied
Save them, or don't save us
For the skin that we steal in the name of your willing god
What are you?
An asshole that can breathe without any air?
Drinking the tears of parasites
Are you satisfied?
Ooh, there's a carving on the wall
The affair is a piece of the estranged
Do you see?
I am aware of the signs
The lapses in space and time
I am a fingertip away, I may
Bonjour
Just a few remaining words
Caught up in a mouthful, full of innuen-du-monde, adieu
Our manic, missive manifest of modern mystery
Weigh the weightfulness of mighty-fine conceit
We are allowed, allowed, allowed to weep
We know right where they'll drown their vendettas in wine
So where do we, where do we, where do we sign?
Take it all
I'll take it all
The lyrics to Rishloo's “The Great Rain Beatle” express a sense of confusion and frustration. The song seems to be addressing someone who has caused harm or disturbance to the singer's perception of reality. The song begins with a sense of disbelief and shock, as the singer seems to have just realized something terrible has occurred. The line "Fuck! What have you done?" implies a sudden realization of the damage that has been done. The singer then goes on to describe feeling lost and disconnected from the divine, as if their encounter with this other person has caused them to lose their way.
The lyrics then turn to a questioning of the motives of the other person, with the singer asking if they are mad at them or if there is some other reason for their behavior. The line "Like a madman, I'll defend the end of the world as ennui" is particularly striking, implying a sense of nihilism and disconnection from reality. The singer then questions the morality of the other person's actions, asking if they are satisfied with "drinking the tears of parasites". The song ends on a somewhat ambiguous note, with the singer calling for action ("Take it all / I'll take it all"), but it's unclear what exactly they are referring to.
Overall, the lyrics to "The Great Rain Beatle" are complex and multifaceted, addressing themes of disconnection, nihilism, and morality. The song seems to be grappling with existential questions and the ugliness of the world, but also holds out the possibility for change and redemption.
