Love and Loss and Love
Ritmo Lyrics

Makes my pulse react
That it's only the thrill of boy meeting girl
Opposites attract
It's physical
Only logical
You must try to ignore that it means more than that
What's love but a second hand emotion
What's love got to do, got to do with it
Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken
It may seem to you that I'm acting confused
When you're close to me
If a tend to look dazed I've read it someplace
I've got cause to be
There's a name for it
There's a phrase that fits
But whatever the reason you do it for me
What's love got to do, got to do with it
What's love but a second hand emotion
What's love got to do, got to do with it
Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken
I've been taking on a new direction
But I have to say
I've been thinking about my own protection
It scares me to feel this way
What's love got to do, got to do with it
What's love but a sweet old fashioned notion
What's love got to do, got to do with it
Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken
The song "What's Love Got to Do With It" by Ritmo Del Mundo Ft. Rea is a classic love ballad with a unique twist. The lyrics delve into the idea that physical attraction and the excitement of a new relationship are often mistaken for love. The singer of the song admits that they are confused by their own feelings, but ultimately they are protecting themselves from a potential broken heart.
The first verse sets the tone for the song, as the singer explains how the physical touch of their partner sets off a reaction in their body. However, they clarify that this is only because of the thrill of attraction between opposite sexes. They try to rationalize these feelings as being logical and merely physical, but they cannot ignore the fact that there may be a deeper emotional connection.
The chorus of the song asks the question "What's love got to do with it?" The lyrics suggest that love is just a second-hand emotion, and that a broken heart is not worth the risk. Despite this, the singer cannot deny their feelings, and they admit that they are scared by the emotions they are experiencing.
In the second verse, the singer admits to feeling confused in their partner's presence. They have read about this feeling and can name it, but they are not sure why they feel this way. The lyrics suggest that because this feeling is not love, there must be another explanation for it.
Overall, the song highlights the confusion that can arise from physical attraction and the early stages of a relationship. It questions the idea of love and places a greater emphasis on self-protection.

You must understand though the touch of your hand
Makes my pulse react
That it's only the thrill of boy meeting girl
Opposites attract
It's physical
Only logical
You must try to ignore that it means more than that
Although your touch creates a physical reaction in me, it's merely the excitement of different genders coming together. It's only physical, not emotional. You should overlook the possibility of it being more than that.
What's love got to do, got to do with it
What's love but a second hand emotion
What's love got to do, got to do with it
Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken
Love plays no role in this situation. It's just a meaningless term that refers to a passing feeling. Who needs the vulnerability of love when hearts can be broken?
It may seem to you that I'm acting confused
When you're close to me
If I tend to look dazed I've read it someplace
I've got cause to be
There's a name for it
There's a phrase that fits
But whatever the reason you do it for me
When you're near me, I may seem bewildered, but there's a scientific explanation for it. Even so, whatever you do, it makes me feel good.
I've been taking on a new direction
But I have to say
I've been thinking about my own protection
It scares me to feel this way
I've been trying to change my life, but I must admit that I've been contemplating how to protect myself from getting hurt. The feeling that you provoke scares me.
What's love got to do, got to do with it
What's love but a sweet old fashioned notion
What's love got to do, got to do with it
Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken
Again, love is irrelevant. It's an old-fashioned idea that doesn't hold weight in practical life. Hearts are frail and can be broken, so why bother with them?
