Róisín Murphy (pronounced roe-sheen) gained fame with Mark Brydon as the lead vocalist for UK electronic duo Moloko.
In addition to her work with Moloko, Murphy has contributed her vocals to the works of other artists including Handsome Boy Modeling School and Boris Dlugosch, for whom she sang on the track, Never Enough, which became a huge club hit.
After three additional albums and a remix project with Brydon, Murphy recorded her first official solo material in 2004 with producer Matthew Herbert, who had previously done remixes for Moloko. She released her debut album, Ruby Blue, in June 2005 in the UK on Echo Records. "Ruby Blue" produced two singles "If We're In Love" and "Sow Into You"

Happier now than I've been in the past
Gone are the days
Gone are the tears
That was a girl I used to be
The girl that you see standing in front of you
Because she believes
In setting you freeeeeeee
So let me know when you're lonely babe
Let me know when you're lonely baby
Let me know when you're lonely babe
Let me know when you're lonely baby
I turn the other way
I could never turn you down
You turn me on
Don't speak out every meaning
I don't belong to you
Like you don't belong to me
So don't hold on too tightly
There forever be
So let me know when you're lonely babe
Let me know when you're lonely baby
Let me know when you're lonely babe
Always say in this cynical thing
Hold me
No ball and chain
I risk my reputation
Just to get more
You always have the reservation
Come lay down beside
Beside me
Beside me
So let me know when you're lonely babe
Let me know when you're lonely baby
Let me know when you're lonely babe
The lyrics of Róisín Murphy's song Let Me Know are about a woman who has let go of the pain and tears of her past and is now happy and confident in herself. The woman sings to her lover, encouraging them to be honest with her about their feelings, and assuring them that she is there to support them even when they are feeling lonely. She recognizes that they both have their own identities and should not hold onto each other too tightly, but also acknowledges the passion they share.
The lyrics suggest that the woman has grown and learned from past experiences, and now values honesty and openness in her relationships. She is willing to take risks and sacrifice her reputation for the sake of her lover's happiness, and is confident that they can find balance between their independence and their relationship. Overall, the song is about the power of communication and trust in a healthy relationship.
