The budding Emcee First started rhyming for fun back in the mid 90's to entertain his friends while they were out on their skateboards. It wasn't until after he left high school when he really started to focus on hip hop, he realized he had a passion. After his failed attempt at higher learning, he formed a group with his friend he met while at school, called "Upstate Weight" and released their first project in 2005 called the "drunken masters freestyle vol. 1" The Mixtape was passed around among peers and with in weeks U.P.S.W was being asked to perform. The group spit shortly after and Rob I.E. took a break from the music scene. Only to return with a bigger impact.
Playing various venues across N.Y., including, the headline act for his genre at the Utica Music Fest '09. and again in 2011. He was also the featured act at the Shrine in Harlem N.Y. and opened with acts such as Keith Murray in Manhattan. also received recognition from "Alwayz Therro" magazine who featured Rob I.E. in their "Rated Next" column. His first solo mixture "Weight Before the Harvest", which was hosted by its Bizkit, came out in July 2010. The entire tape was recorded on the spot without a single song being written down, and he managed to create and track each song in less than 9 hours. The mixtape consisted of 14 tracks.
Rob I.E. is a artist that strives to push himself. Believes strongly in making original, creative music and continues to do so. So always be on the lookout for something new from this artist and catch a live performance which words can't define.

Yes I'm falling backwards into time
There's no resistance but it's all been by design
In a war for your very mind
From dessert plains I feel the heat across the burning sand
How they take the measure of a man
And even if you do the very best you can
And now you know you'll never plant me, on your echo chamber farm
Your masks and lies can never make me take your bloody shot in the arm
They're only evil, they laugh and call you names like sheeple
And they plot and play their games on the people
It gets turned around until you all believe
Fueled only by their lust for power and greed
And now you know you'll never plant me, on your echo chamber farm
Your masks and lies can never make me take your bloody shot in the arm
And now you know you'll never plant me on your echo chamber farm
Your hoax and lies can never make me take your bloody shot in the arm
The song "Died in Arms" by Rob explores themes of resistance, manipulation, and the struggle for individuality in a society consumed by power and greed. The lyrics convey a message of standing up against the influence and control of others, refusing to conform to their expectations or be swayed by their deceitful tactics.
The opening lines "Calling mayday, can you hear me coming cross your airwaves, yes I'm falling backwards into time, there's no resistance but it's all been by design" suggest a call for help or a plea for attention amidst a world where there seems to be no escape or opposition. The mention of falling backwards into time implies a loss of progress or regression, with no resistance available because everything has been orchestrated according to someone else's plan.
The line "In a war for your very mind" indicates that the struggle being depicted is one of control and manipulation, where the powers at play are vying for control over people's thoughts and beliefs. It suggests that there is a battle for the freedom of the mind, with the singer implying that it is crucial to be aware of this war and resist falling victim to it.
The lyrics continue with metaphors, such as "From dessert plains I feel the heat across the burning sand, how they take the measure of a man" which symbolize the harshness and unrelenting nature of the world in which they find themselves. The imagery of the desert heat represents the intensity and challenges faced by individuals in this society. The reference to taking the measure of a man suggests that people are constantly being judged and evaluated based on their ability to conform to societal norms and expectations.
The lyrics further emphasize the singer's refusal to be controlled or deceived by the powers that be. The line "Your masks and lies can never make me take your bloody shot in the arm" reflects the defiance and resilience of the singer, stating that no matter what tactics are employed or propaganda is spread, they will not succumb to manipulation or participate in something they view as harmful or against their beliefs.
The final lines of the song "They're only evil, they laugh and call you names like sheeple, and they plot and play their games on the people, it gets turned around until you all believe, fueled only by their lust for power and greed" criticize the manipulative and corrupt nature of those in power. The lyrics suggest that these individuals use tactics of name-calling and manipulation to control and exploit others. They thrive on the ignorance and naivety of people, twisting the truth until their deceitful agenda becomes widely accepted.
In conclusion, "Died in Arms" by Rob is a song that speaks to the struggle against manipulation, deceit, and the desire for individuality in a world consumed by power and greed. The lyrics convey a sense of resistance and defiance, urging listeners to be aware of the forces that seek to control their minds and beliefs. It serves as a call to stand up against those who manipulate and exploit, refusing to be swayed by their tactics and maintaining one's own autonomy and integrity.
