I.E. has touched a variety of NY venues. He has worked with super-producer Harry Fraud on one of his latest releases which also featured national names Taylor Gang's Chevy Woods and Smoke DZA who all joined forces with Rob I.E. to create the single "Twisting Facts" which landed on itunes.
Currently working on new material which is planned to be released this Fall. Along with constantly working on his craft "I.E." is always reaching out to new fans. His mission starts in Upstate N.Y. and Rob I.E. wants everyone to join the movement.
The budding Emcee First started rhyming for fun back in the mid 90's to entertain his friends while they were out on their skateboards. It wasn't until after he left high school when he really started to focus on hip hop, he realized he had a passion. After his failed attempt at higher learning, he formed a group with his friend he met while at school, called "Upstate Weight" and released their first project in 2005 called the "drunken masters freestyle vol. 1" The Mixtape was passed around among peers and with in weeks U.P.S.W was being asked to perform. The group spit shortly after and Rob I.E. took a break from the music scene. Only to return with a bigger impact.
Playing various venues across N.Y., including, the headline act for his genre at the Utica Music Fest '09. and again in 2011. He was also the featured act at the Shrine in Harlem N.Y. and opened with acts such as Keith Murray in Manhattan. also received recognition from "Alwayz Therro" magazine who featured Rob I.E. in their "Rated Next" column. His first solo mixture "Weight Before the Harvest", which was hosted by its Bizkit, came out in July 2010. The entire tape was recorded on the spot without a single song being written down, and he managed to create and track each song in less than 9 hours. The mixtape consisted of 14 tracks.
Rob I.E. is a artist that strives to push himself. Believes strongly in making original, creative music and continues to do so. So always be on the lookout for something new from this artist and catch a live performance which words can't define.
you're so hard
Rob (i.e.) Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
In the song "You're So Hard" by Rob, the lyrics are discussing the success and lavish lifestyle that the artist is experiencing. The opening lyrics, "I've never seen it glow so hard from space," could be interpreted as the artist seeing his own success from a distance and being in awe of it himself. He goes on to mention that he is an 80's baby and prefers old school style, indicating that he values authenticity and tradition.
The references to a Mercedes sleigh and Doe Boy and Crazy Cake could be seen as symbols of wealth and indulgence. The artist has been gone for a while, but is now "beaming" and living a life of luxury, with strobe lights, city lights, and a penthouse. He is in the owner's chair of a skybox, as if he has arrived at the top of the game.
However, despite his success, the song also portrays a sense of determination and resilience. The artist acknowledges that life is cyclical and that he must continue to work hard and evolve in order to stay on top. The lyrics suggest that he is taking nothing for granted, rehearsing and preparing for change, and leaving fate to the best while he works hard.

Lyrics:
Man, it's a hot one
Like seven inches from the midday sun
Well, I hear you whisper and the words melt everyone
But you stay so cool
My muñequita, my Spanish Harlem Mona Lisa
You're my reason for reason
The step in my groove
And if you said this life ain't good enough
I would give my world to lift you up
I could change my life to better suit your mood
Because you're so smooth
And it's just like the ocean under the moon
Oh, it's the same as the emotion that I get from you
You got the kind of lovin' that can be so smooth, yeah
Give me your heart, make it real, or else forget about it
But I'll tell you one thing
If you would leave it'd be a crying shame
In every breath and every word
I hear your name calling me out
Out from the barrio
You hear my rhythm on your radio
You feel the turning of the world, so soft and slow
It's turning you round and round
And if you said this life ain't good enough
I would give my world to lift you up
I could change my life to better suit your mood
Because you're so smooth
Well, and it's just like the ocean under the moon
Well, it's the same as the emotion that I get from you
You got the kind of lovin' that can be so smooth, yeah
Give me your heart, make it real, or else forget about it
Well, and it's just like the ocean under the moon
Oh, it's the same as the emotion that I get from you
You got the kind of lovin' that can be so smooth, yeah
Give me your heart, make it real, or else forget about it
Or else forget about it
Or else forget about it
Oh, let's don't forget about it
Give me your heart, make it real
Let's don't forget about it (hey)
Let's don't forget about it (now, oh, now, oh)
Let's don't forget about it (now, now, now, oh)
Let's don't forget about it (hey, now, now, oh)
Let's don't forget about it (hey, hey, hey)

Whoever's idea it was to put Rob Thomas and Carlos Santana together was a freakin' genius! You can just feel the heat, and if you close your eyes you can imagine yourself on that sweltering barrio street. What a perfect summer song!
