love this new album/band. if you haven't yet you guys should definitely check out his self-titled band (Rob Crow) has a few albums and some amazing stuff. I swear Zach and he are the best songwriters alive right now. (maybe 2nd after mccartney)

I dunno. Rob Crow and Pinback were hugely popular w/ my gang of gen xer's. I just don't think it translates to any other generation. Things now tend to get labeled and he was labeled just another Emo artist. I saw Pinback sellout 2 shows at a club in 2 hrs in 2001. I think Rob really translates and touches a core group of people but for whatever reason it just doesn't reach the masses. It seems like sort of the same story from a lot of bands in the 90's. Like Curt Cobain could not figure out how Nirvana was so popular yet the Meat Puppets were just sort of a cult band.

I think it works well to create tension and discord, making the "is it easy to recognise" parts that surround it even more beautiful. It has a chaotic Thingy-ness to it.

I agree. I saw Pinback back in 2012 and it was really depressing. Rob was really out of shape and just going through the motions. I talked to Zach before the show and he seemed kind of down about the band. I think they just had to go in different directions. This is an amazing track though.

Yes rob even back in high school was too smart for English class. He laughed at the assignments becus it insulted his intelligence the teacher couldn't understand why he wouldn't just a conform and do the homework
