Stranger In Paradise
Rob Mancini Lyrics

I'm a stranger in Paradise
All lost in a wonderland
A stranger in paradise
If I stand starry eyed,
That's a danger in Paradise
For mortals who stand beside
An angel like you
And I ascended
Out of the common place
Into the rarest somewhere in space
I hang suspended
Until I know
There's a chance that you care
Won't you answer this fervent prayer?
Of a stranger in paradise
Don't send me in dark despair
From all that I hunger for
But open your angel's arms
To this stranger in paradise
And tell him that he need be
A stranger no more
In Rob Mancini’s song “Stranger in Paradise,” the singer expresses his wonder and amazement at the sight of an angelic being, who he describes as a stranger in Paradise. He describes himself as lost in a wonderland, entranced by the beauty of the angel. The singer is aware of the danger of being too lost in this paradise-like state, but gives in to the feeling because of his strong attraction to the angel. He saw her face and then ascended out of the common place and into the rarest somewhere in space - this suggests that the singer has been transported to a higher level of consciousness and reality.
The singer then reflects on his suspended state, acknowledging that there is a risk to his mortal self. He begs the angel to answer his prayer and not fear his love, opening her angelic arms to him so that he may no longer be a stranger in paradise. Overall, the song speaks to the longing for love and connection, even in a state of blissful awe and wonder.

Take my hand,
Please, come with me,
I'm a stranger in Paradise
I feel like I don't belong here,
All lost in a wonderland
I'm overwhelmed by everything,
A stranger in paradise
I'm an outsider looking in,
If I stand starry eyed,
If I look at you with adoration,
That's a danger in Paradise
That could be risky because you're like an angel,
For mortals who stand beside
For regular humans like me,
An angel like you
Someone as perfect as you,
I saw your face,
As soon as I saw you,
And I ascended
I was lifted up,
Out of the common place
Away from the mundane everyday life,
Into the rarest somewhere in space
To a unique and special place,
I hang suspended
I'm floating in this experience,
Until I know
Until it's clear to me,
There's a chance that you care
That you might have feelings for me,
Won't you answer this fervent prayer?
Please, respond to my desperate hope,
Of a stranger in paradise
From someone who doesn't fit in here,
Don't send me in dark despair
Don't make me feel hopeless and lost,
From all that I hunger for
From everything that I desire,
But open your angel's arms
Instead, open yourself up to me,
To this stranger in paradise
To this person who feels like they're in a special place but doesn't belong,
And tell him that he need be
And reassure me that I don't have to be,
A stranger no more
An outsider or someone who doesn't belong anymore.
