Living Dead Girl
Rob Zombie Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Who is this irresistible creature
Who has an insatiable lust for the dead?
Living dead girl

Rage in the cage and piss upon the stage
There's only one sure way to bring the giant down
Defunct the strings of cemetery things
With one flat foot on the devils wing

Crawl on me
Sink into me
Die for me
Living dead girl

Crawl on me
Sink into me
Die for me
Living dead girl

Raping the geek
And hustling the freak
Like a hunchback juice
On a sentimental noose
Operation filth
They love to love the wealth
Of an S.S. whore
Making scary sounds

Crawl on me
Sink into me
Die for me
Living dead girl

Crawl on me
Sink into me
Die for me
Living dead girl

Cyclone jack, hallucinating hack
Thinks that Donna Reed eats dollar bills
Goldfoot's machine creates another fiend
So beautiful they make you, kill

Crawl on me
Sink into me
Die for me
Living dead girl

Crawl on me
Sink into me
Die for me
Living dead girl

Blood on her skin
Dripping with sin
Do it again
Living dead girl

Blood on her skin
Dripping with sin

Do it again
Living dead girl

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Rob Zombie’s Living Dead Girl paint a picture of a seductive female creature that is obsessed with death and being undead. The character she embodies is fascinating, intriguing, and dangerous, a force to be reckoned with. The song transforms the listener into a voyeur, taking us on a journey of fascination with this sinister figure. In the opening lyrics, Zombie depicts the 'living dead girl' as someone who is irresistible and obsessed with the dead. He sets a somber tone with his words, expressing that this creature has an insatiable desire for the deceased.

Zombie then proceeds to provide a vivid visual by portraying this character as someone who dominates her surroundings. He talks about her 'rage in the cage and piss upon the stage' referring to her dominating and controlling nature. The lyrics allude to the fact that this person has immense power over others, to the point where they are powerless in her presence.

Zombie's lyrics in the song might be interpreted as being controversial, but they highlight his artistic abilities. He brings his audience to a place where they can imagine and get lost in his world. The song offers up a unique, dark view of the world, and allows the listener to experience the raw, powerful emotion that he portrays in a haunting manner.

Rob Zombie is truly an artist. This musical style, while dark, always has a sense of humor. He uses themes of death and demons, but always with a wink and a nod to the audience, like we’re in on the joke. I’m not really a metalhead, but I’ve always found his music to be uplifting and energizing, in a macabre sort of way.

Facts

@angelic5424

I feel the same way. His song Dragula was named after the Munster's family race car. Horror doesn't get more wholesome than that.

Don't have to be a metalhead to like great music

@Yaboi_Phantom

I love metal and I'm glad to see someone enjoying it metalhead or not

So you like living dead girl and dragula? I’d bet those are the only songs of his you know. His movies are god awful and besides those two songs his music isn’t very good. His real name is Richard B. Cummings.
