Daha uzun sürmeliydi sana direncim
Açmamalıydım kapılarımı hayatıma umarsızca savrulan varlığına
İçimdeki çelişkileri dinlemeliydim
hayatımdaki boşlukları doldurmana
kalbime yerleşmene izin vermemeliydim….
Kurduğumuz pembe hayallerin sahteliğini görmeliydim
ve avuçlarında getirdiğin okyanusların yalancı maviliğini
Ve aramızda uzayan yollardan bilmeliydim
Senin yollarının gelmekten çok gitmek için yapıldığını….
Sevmemeliydim seni…….
Kaybolan kendime…
Bir gün belki bulurum diye kendimi, iç kırıklarımdan
şiirler biriktiriyorum avuçlarımda
avuntusuz yüreğime kabuk olur diye yaralarıma saklıyorum….
Yanlış anlama
Kırgınlığım kendime….
Kırgınlığım; avuçlarımda kanayan en keskin kelime hâlâ…
Sevmemeliydim seni….
The lyrics to Robbie Dupree's song It's a Feeling are written in Turkish and translate to "I shouldn't have loved you." The song is about loving someone who is unable to reciprocate those same feelings and how that love can lead to pain and heartbreak. The singer reflects on how they should have listened to the contradictions within themselves and not let the other person into their life so easily. They also talk about how they should have seen the fake nature of the pink dreams they had built with the other person and how the oceans they brought with them were not as blue as they seemed. The singer ultimately regrets loving the other person and wishes they had seen the signs and avoided the pain.
The lyrics also mention how the singer should have paid attention to the other person's rushed behavior and how they were always leaving rather than coming. They should have seen how the other person was only using them to satisfy themselves until they could leave. The singer regrets not seeing all of the signs of the impending departure and not protecting themselves from the inevitable heartbreak. The end of the lyrics mention how the singer is no longer speaking to the other person and instead focuses on healing themselves by writing poetry and holding onto the hope that someday they will find themselves again.
Overall, the lyrics to It's a Feeling are a haunting reminder of the pain that comes with loving someone who is unable to reciprocate those same feelings. The singer regrets not seeing the warning signs and not protecting themselves from heartbreak, but ultimately finds solace in focusing on their own healing.

I bought this album on tape in a Goodwill in 1990! I bought it for Steal Away and was pleasantly surprised that there were other songs that I liked even more! This is one of them! I'm No Stranger and Love is a Mystery are two others! What a debut album! Thanks for posting!

@JuliansFlightdotcom
great great track, with a melody capable of turning into a standard. this tune flew big time under detection ... all musical radars were off.
some reputable contemporary artist should cover this and turn it into a serious jam ... like say, POMPLAMOOSE, KING, a bunch of neo-soul artists should hear this.
