I am an American who has been in England in 1998. I remember seeing the Angels video(also in black and white) soon after my arrival and not getting into the song. And the same goes for most of his other songs. But lately I've enjoying his music in a retro sort of way. Didn't realise it was Daryl Hannah in the video until a few minutes ago when I googled the song. Not sure why but I always knew he wouldn't catch on in the USA.

When I was a young boy, 4-5 years old, my family wasn’t very rich. My mother didn’t have many cds, but one she had was a Robbie Williams CD. Every night she’d play his hits. This one especially.

Hearing this song takes me back to my childhood, dancing to Robbie Williams music, making my parents happy during tough times. Robbies music will always have a special place in my heart.
