Williams has received a record 18 Brit Awards, winning Best British Male Artist four times, Outstanding Contribution to Music twice, an Icon Award for his lasting impact on British culture, eight German ECHO Awards, and three MTV European Music Awards. In 2004, he was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame after being voted the Greatest Artist of the 1990s. According to the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), he has been certified for 20.2 million albums and 8.66 million singles in the UK as a solo artist. Five of his albums have also topped the Australian albums chart, and has sold 75 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time. He also topped the 2000–2010 UK airplay chart. His three concerts at Knebworth in 2003 drew over 375,000 people, the UK's biggest music event to that point. In 2014, he was awarded the freedom of his hometown of Stoke-on-Trent and had a tourist trail created and streets named in his honour. Williams' thirteenth album, XXV was released on 9 September 2022.
After 15 years, Williams rejoined Take That in 2010 to co-write and perform lead vocals on their album Progress, which became the second-fastest-selling album in UK chart history and the fastest-selling record of the century at the time. The subsequent stadium tour, which featured seven songs from Williams' solo career, became the biggest-selling concert in UK history when it sold 1.34 million tickets in less than 24 hours. In 2011, Take That frontman Gary Barlow confirmed that Williams had left the band for a second time to focus on his solo career, although he stated that the departure was amicable and that Williams was welcome to rejoin Take That in the future. Williams has since performed with Take That on three separate television appearances, and collaborated with Barlow on a number of projects such as the West End musical The Band.

Queen bitch, eat the rich
I'm on the second course today
I'm not the first
And I won't be the worst
You done most of L.A.
Can't find a virgin
24 hours a day
Call her Jean Genie you big lip meanie
I'm about to be blown away
Come on, sing it
Take me to the place where the sunshine flows
Oh, my Sunset Rodeo
Hot fudge
Here comes the judge
There's a green card in the way
The Holy Ghost and the whole East Coast
Are moving to L.A.
And we've been dreaming of this feeling since 1988
Mother, things have gotta change
I'm moving to L.A.
Uh
Take the piss, always English
God bless you, Uncle Sam
You got a cool gene pool and our winter's cruel
God knows I love to tan
Making cents and dead presidents
Before I could count to ten
With the nation behind me, can't stop the limey
She's on her back again
Come on, sing it
Take me to the place where the sunshine flows
Oh, my Sunset Rodeo
Hot fudge
Here comes the judge
There's a green card in the way
The Holy Ghost and the whole East Coast
Are moving to L.A.
And we've been dreaming of this feeling since 1988
Mother, things have gotta change
I'm moving to L.A.
L.A., L.A., L.A.
L.A., L.A., L.A.
L.A., L.A., L.A.
Ha, ha, ha, hoo, hoo
Take me to the place where the sunshine flows
Oh, my Sunset Rodeo
Hot fudge
Here comes the judge
There's a green card in the way
The Holy Ghost and the whole East Coast
Are moving to L.A.
And we've been dreaming of this feeling since 1988
Mother, things have gotta change
I'm moving to
Hot fudge
Here comes the judge
There's a green card in the way
The Holy Ghost and the whole East Coast
Are moving to L.A.
And we've been dreaming of this feeling since 1988
Mother, things have gotta change
I'm moving to L.A.
Keep a-moving to L.A.
Keep a-moving to L.A.
Keep a-moving
Keep a-moving
Keep a-moving to L.A.
Keep a-moving
Keep a-moving
Keep a-moving to L.A.
And now stop
In "Hot Fudge," Robbie Williams sings about the lure of Los Angeles and the glamour that it represents, using a mix of self-deprecating humor and biting commentary to describe his experiences as an Englishman in the city of dreams. The song's lyrics are full of vivid imagery, with references to "Hot fudge" and "Sunset Rodeo" conjuring up a sense of decadence and excess that characterizes much of the city's nightlife.
Throughout the song, Williams takes aim at various targets, from the wealthy elite ("eat the rich") to the city's obsession with plastic surgery ("I can get you a surgeon"). He also reflects on his own status as an outsider in the city, with lines like "always English" and "God knows I love to tan" suggesting a sense of bemusement at his attempts to fit in.
Ultimately, though, "Hot Fudge" is a song about the allure of Hollywood and the ways in which it can tempt even the most jaded of outsiders. With its infectious chorus and catchy melody, it's a tribute to the city that has captured the imagination of so many, and a sly commentary on the excesses and contradictions that make it such a compelling place.
