Williams has received a record 18 Brit Awards, winning Best British Male Artist four times, Outstanding Contribution to Music twice, an Icon Award for his lasting impact on British culture, eight German ECHO Awards, and three MTV European Music Awards. In 2004, he was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame after being voted the Greatest Artist of the 1990s. According to the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), he has been certified for 20.2 million albums and 8.66 million singles in the UK as a solo artist. Five of his albums have also topped the Australian albums chart, and has sold 75 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time. He also topped the 2000–2010 UK airplay chart. His three concerts at Knebworth in 2003 drew over 375,000 people, the UK's biggest music event to that point. In 2014, he was awarded the freedom of his hometown of Stoke-on-Trent and had a tourist trail created and streets named in his honour. Williams' thirteenth album, XXV was released on 9 September 2022.
After 15 years, Williams rejoined Take That in 2010 to co-write and perform lead vocals on their album Progress, which became the second-fastest-selling album in UK chart history and the fastest-selling record of the century at the time. The subsequent stadium tour, which featured seven songs from Williams' solo career, became the biggest-selling concert in UK history when it sold 1.34 million tickets in less than 24 hours. In 2011, Take That frontman Gary Barlow confirmed that Williams had left the band for a second time to focus on his solo career, although he stated that the departure was amicable and that Williams was welcome to rejoin Take That in the future. Williams has since performed with Take That on three separate television appearances, and collaborated with Barlow on a number of projects such as the West End musical The Band.

Where you drink champagne and it taste just like cherry cola
C-O-L-A cola
She walked up to me, and she asked me to dance
And when I asked her her name, in a dark brown voice, she said, "Lola"
L-O-L-A Lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo Lola
But when she squeezed me tight, she nearly broke my spine, oh my Lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo Lola
Well, I'm not dumb, but I can't understand
Why she walk like a woman and talk like a man, oh my Lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo Lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo Lola
Well, we drank champagne and danced all night
Under electric candlelight
She picked me up and sat me on her knee
And said, "Dear boy, won't you come home with me?"
Well, I'm not the world's most passionate guy
When I looked in her eyes, I almost fell for my Lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo Lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo Lola
Lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo Lola
L-O-L-A Lola
Well, I pushed her away
I walked to the door
I fell to the floor
I got down on my knees
Then I looked at her and she at me
Well, that's the way that I want it to stay
And I always want it to be that way for my Lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo Lola
Girls will be boys and boys will be girls
It's a mixed up, muddled up, shook up world, 'cept for Lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo Lola
Well, I left home just a week before
I never ever kissed a woman before
But Lola smiled and took me by the hand
And said, "Dear boy, I'm gonna make you a man"
Well, I'm not the world's most masculine man
But I know what I am and I'm glad I'm a man
And so is Lola
Lo-lo-lo-lo Lola
L-O-L-A Lola

The song "Lola" by Robbie Williams is about the singer meeting a woman named Lola in an old club in Soho. Lola seems to exude a confident and somewhat masculine energy that fascinates the singer. Despite his confusion over Lola's gender and identity, the two of them dance, imbibe champagne, and eventually end up together. The lyrics suggest that Lola helps the singer embrace his own masculinity even as she subverts conventional gender stereotypes. He learns from Lola that gender is a fluid and complex phenomenon, and he appreciates the way she challenges traditional assumptions about male and female behavior.
Throughout the song, the chorus repeats the name Lola followed by the letters that make up her name, spelling it out in a playful and catchy way. The lyrics also include references to both physical attraction and emotional connection, as the singer is initially drawn to Lola's physical energy and then becomes more emotionally involved with her as the night goes on. The lyrics are filled with contradictions, but they ultimately celebrate the idea of individuality and authenticity, no matter how unconventional it may appear to others.
Overall, the song "Lola" is about breaking down societal norms that pigeonhole people based on gender stereotypes. It's about celebrating individuality, even at the risk of being misunderstood or marginalized by others. The titular character of Lola represents a powerful challenge to traditional notions of gender, and the song encourages listeners to embrace their own unique identities, no matter how confusing or unconventional they may seem to others.
