1) American rockabilly revivalist Robert Gordon (March 29, 1947 – October 18, 2022) grew up in Bethesda, M.D., a suburb of Washington D.C. Unlike many of his heroes, he had a relatively comfortable childhood. At a young age, after hearing Elvis Presley's Heartbreak Hotel, he was inspired to choose R'n'R as his future career path, according to Wikipedia. In the mid-seventies Gordon was a part of the then-flourishing downtown NYC punk scene, fronting the CBGB regulars, Tuff Darts (who appear on an early CBGB live compilation album). After recording one album with the band ("All for the Love of Rock 'n' Roll) he parted ways with the band to work with such artists as Link Wray and Chris Spedding, both of whom share a love for early rock 'n' roll and rockabilly. Bruce Springsteen wrote the song, Fire, for Gordon and played piano on the studio version which also features the guitar-legend Link Wray.

Robert Gordon Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It feels so right, so right
How can it be wrong?
There's something in the way you kiss
That makes me want to hold you tight
I know that nothing can't be wrong
That feels so right.
Each time we touch, you thrill me so
It means so much, so much
I can't let you go
This isn't only for tonight
We're gonna love our whole life long
'Cause baby, if it feels so right
How can it be wrong?
Robert Gordon's song "It" is a love song where Gordon speaks about his love interest and how it feels perfect to be with that person. He sings about the physical attraction he's experiencing, stating that the way she kisses makes him want to hold her tight. In the next verse, Gordon depicts the emotional depth of his relationship where he says that every touch from her makes him feel so thrilled and that it means so much to him that he can't let her go. Finally, Gordon reveals that their relationship is not just confined to the night they are spending together, but it is a lifetime of love that they are going to embark on together.
The song is mainly about someone's intense feelings for their partner – the idea that everything they are feeling is meant to be. Robert seems to be completely smitten with the girl he's singing to, and he seems to believe that everything is aligning just as it should. The song is really about the concept of destiny, where two people's lives are weaving together because they are meant to be together. The song convinces us that everything is good and pure between the two, and no one should think to question their feelings.
