Robert Palmer Lyrics

This a fine time to tell me
That you want to stay here
This is a fine time, for you to let me know
This is a fine time for you to let me know you want to play
This is a fine, fine time for you to let me know
You didn't waste any time, telling me how well you behaved
But you , but you, sure as dropped me a line
?
This is a fine time
To tell me
To let me know
Oh yes darlin' it is
This is a fine time for you to let me know, let me know
This is this is this is, this is
A fine time
That you want to stay
This is a fine time
For you to let me know Know this is a fine time for you to let me know
That you want to play
This is a fine time
This a fine for you to let me know
You didn't waste any time
In tellin' me how well you behaved
And you sure as dropped me a line
'Bout patience and danger
When meeting a stranger
Without the ?
You were the ?
This is a fine time
To tell me
Let me know you want to stay here
This is a fine time
For you to let me know
The lyrics to Robert Palmer's song Fine Time describe a situation in which the singer's romantic interest informs them that they want to stay and play. The singer emphasizes that this is a fine time for their interest to communicate this desire, but also acknowledges that their interest had previously mentioned being patient and aware of the risks of meeting a stranger. However, the singer seems willing to take that risk and encourages their interest to let them know how they feel.
One interpretation of the lyrics is that the singer is excited about the prospect of a romantic encounter or relationship, but is also aware of the potential dangers or risks involved. The phrase "patience and danger when meeting a stranger" suggests that the singer's interest may have been warning them to be cautious, but the singer is eager to take a chance and explore their feelings. The repetition of the phrase "this is a fine time" emphasizes the urgency and excitement of the moment.
