Let Me Sign
Robert Pattinson Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Ooh
Stood there by broken tree
Hands were all twisted;
Pointing at me.
I was damned by light comin'
All the while she
Spoke with a voice that disrupted the sky.
She said, "Walk on over here to the bit of shade.
I will wrap you in my arms and know you've been saved."

Let me sign, Let me sign

Overall Meaning

Robert Pattinson's "Let Me Sign" is a hauntingly beautiful song that has been interpreted in many different ways. The song starts with the singer standing by a broken tree, feeling a sense of unease as he is being pointed at by someone with twisted hands. The sky is disrupted by her voice, which suggests a divine figure. The singer is then invited by this figure to come to a bit of shade, where she will wrap him in her arms and save him.

The song can be interpreted from several different perspectives. Some see it as a love song, with the singer being saved by a woman who he is deeply in love with. Others see it as a religious song, with the singer being saved by a divine being. There is a sense of ambiguity to the song, which makes it open to many different interpretations.

The lyrics of "Let Me Sign" are powerful and poignant, with a haunting melody that matches the lyrics perfectly. The song builds slowly to create a sense of tension and unease, before reaching a climax that is both beautiful and haunting.

You can hear the soul folk influence. His pronunciation comes from a mixture of that influence (the drawl) and his natural accent that tends to roll harder R and Ts into the vowel, creating your "Ed Sheeran" effect mixed with already powerful actors diaphragm.

End result is a wonderful little tune, mad props to the guy
