In 1984, Plant formed a short-lived all-star retro rock group with musicians Jimmy Page (also of Led Zeppelin), Jeff Beck, and Phil Collins called The Honeydrippers. The band had a Top Ten hit with their song "Sea of Love", a remake of the Phil Phillips' chestnut. Plant's also notably performed with Page in the outfit Page & Plant.
Plant's love of the music of Morocco led him to a new collaboration called Robert Plant and the Strange Sensation. The band's releases met with critical acclaim and numerous Grammy nominations. They completed a notable 2006 tour of Europe in September.
In 2007, Plant began recording and performing with American bluegrass star Alison Krauss. A duet album, Raising Sand, was released on 23 October 2007 on Rounder Records. The album, recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles and produced by T-Bone Burnett, met with enormous critical and commercial success. Tours have reached devoted audiences in multiple cities.
The year of 2010 proves to be yet another successful year for the lemon squeezer. During the summer, Plant will be reuniting with his old, Pre-Zep group, The Band Of Joy, for a tour of the southern and mid continental tour of the US.
In 2012 Robert Plant starts another band project going by the name Sensational Space Shifters releasing the live album Robert Plant Presents: Sensational Space Shifters. Along with Plant himself the band consists of Liam "Skin" Tyson, Justin Adams, Billy Fuller and John Baggot along with Dave Smith, Juldeh Camara and Patty Griffin.
Heaven Sent
Robert Plant Lyrics

A stolen kiss a fall from grace
Singing out
He's heaven sent, he feeds the flame
Of everlasting love
His empire falls, his spell will break
Once cast aside, his song awaits
Of freedom's golden flow
Now shadows fall, the hour is late
Still hear your songs and time won't wait
Once heaven sent above the world an eagle and a dove
All that's worth for doing, is seldom easy done
All that's worth for winning, is never easy won
All the long goodbyes, all the goodbye songs
All the love for giving, never really gone
All that's worth for doing, is seldom easy done
All that's worth for winning, is never easy won
All the long goodbyes, all the goodbye songs
Spend the time forgiving, never really done
Never really done
The lyrics of Robert Plant's song "Heaven Sent" portray a sense of longing, redemption, and the complex nature of love. The mention of an angel at the gate sets a celestial tone, suggesting the presence of a divine being overseeing the events unfolding. The line "A stolen kiss a fall from grace" implies a forbidden love or a transgression that led to a separation or distance. The angel, described as being "heaven sent," represents a figure who ignites and sustains an undying love.
The lyrics also suggest that this love story is not immune to challenges and obstacles. The line "His empire falls, his spell will break" indicates that even the presence of the angel is not enough to keep the love intact forever. The song speaks of the longing for the angel's return and the anticipation of his song, projecting a sense of hope for reconciliation.
In the later verses, the lyrics take a reflective tone, acknowledging the passage of time and the inevitability of goodbyes. The repetition of the phrase "All that's worth for doing, is seldom easy done" emphasizes the idea that true love and meaningful actions require effort and perseverance. The song concludes with the affirmation that love and forgiveness are ongoing processes, never truly finished or resolved.
Overall, "Heaven Sent" explores themes of love, redemption, and the complexities of human emotions, presenting a thought-provoking narrative that resonates with listeners.
