In 1984, Plant formed a short-lived all-star retro rock group with musicians Jimmy Page (also of Led Zeppelin), Jeff Beck, and Phil Collins called The Honeydrippers. The band had a Top Ten hit with their song "Sea of Love", a remake of the Phil Phillips' chestnut. Plant's also notably performed with Page in the outfit Page & Plant.
Plant's love of the music of Morocco led him to a new collaboration called Robert Plant and the Strange Sensation. The band's releases met with critical acclaim and numerous Grammy nominations. They completed a notable 2006 tour of Europe in September.
In 2007, Plant began recording and performing with American bluegrass star Alison Krauss. A duet album, Raising Sand, was released on 23 October 2007 on Rounder Records. The album, recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles and produced by T-Bone Burnett, met with enormous critical and commercial success. Tours have reached devoted audiences in multiple cities.
The year of 2010 proves to be yet another successful year for the lemon squeezer. During the summer, Plant will be reuniting with his old, Pre-Zep group, The Band Of Joy, for a tour of the southern and mid continental tour of the US.
In 2012 Robert Plant starts another band project going by the name Sensational Space Shifters releasing the live album Robert Plant Presents: Sensational Space Shifters. Along with Plant himself the band consists of Liam "Skin" Tyson, Justin Adams, Billy Fuller and John Baggot along with Dave Smith, Juldeh Camara and Patty Griffin.

Hey Joe where you goin' with that money in your hand
I'm goin' downtown, buy me a blue steel 44
I'm goin' downtown, buy me a blue steel 44
Hey Joe, where you goin' with that gun in your hand
Hey Joe, where you goin' with that gun in your hand
I'm goin downtown find my baby she's been running with another man
Gonna find my woman she's been running with another man.
Hey Joe I heard you shot your lady down
Hey Joe I heard you shot your lady down
Yes I did I shot her just like I said
Yes I did I shot her just like I said
Hey Joe where you gonna run to now
Hey Joe where you gonna run to now
I'm goin' way down south
I'm goin' way down south where I can be free
Ain't no hangman
Ain't no hangman
Ain't' no hangman
Ain't no hangman puttin' no noose around me.
The lyrics of Robert Plant's "Hey Joe" tell the story of a man named Joe who is on the run after killing his lady for cheating on him. The song begins with Joe leaving somewhere with money in his hand, driving downtown to buy a blue steel 44. As the second verse begins, we learn that Joe is on his way to find his lover who has been running around with someone else. He's taking the gun with him for protection and to confront her. In the following verse, we find out that Joe has indeed killed his lady and is now running away to the south where there is no hangman to capture and punish him.
Although the song might seem straightforward, there are different interpretations of it. Some argue that it's a commentary on America's obsession with guns and violence or a social criticism of the justice system, while others see it as a tale of a jilted lover seeking revenge. In any case, the song's haunting guitar riff and Plant's intense vocal delivery combine to create an ominous and unforgettable feeling.
