In 1984, Plant formed a short-lived all-star retro rock group with musicians Jimmy Page (also of Led Zeppelin), Jeff Beck, and Phil Collins called The Honeydrippers. The band had a Top Ten hit with their song "Sea of Love", a remake of the Phil Phillips' chestnut. Plant's also notably performed with Page in the outfit Page & Plant.
Plant's love of the music of Morocco led him to a new collaboration called Robert Plant and the Strange Sensation. The band's releases met with critical acclaim and numerous Grammy nominations. They completed a notable 2006 tour of Europe in September.
In 2007, Plant began recording and performing with American bluegrass star Alison Krauss. A duet album, Raising Sand, was released on 23 October 2007 on Rounder Records. The album, recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles and produced by T-Bone Burnett, met with enormous critical and commercial success. Tours have reached devoted audiences in multiple cities.
The year of 2010 proves to be yet another successful year for the lemon squeezer. During the summer, Plant will be reuniting with his old, Pre-Zep group, The Band Of Joy, for a tour of the southern and mid continental tour of the US.
In 2012 Robert Plant starts another band project going by the name Sensational Space Shifters releasing the live album Robert Plant Presents: Sensational Space Shifters. Along with Plant himself the band consists of Liam "Skin" Tyson, Justin Adams, Billy Fuller and John Baggot along with Dave Smith, Juldeh Camara and Patty Griffin.

Your love so warm and tender
Sweet surrender, now
So warm and tender, now
Inside my waves are breaking
A light of my salvation
Oh, my waves are breaking now
Ooh, sweet salvation now
I'm seeking love and glory
Just like I always do
The bosom of the freedom
Are very rarely chewed
Out here the fire's still burning
So long into my night
Still captive and still yearning
Surrender to your light
A heart that never falters
A love that never dies
I linger in the shadow
The dimming of my light
The dimming of my light
The dimming of my light
The dimming of my light
In Robert Plant's song The May Queen, he starts with the phrase "Lay down in sweet surrender, your love so warm and tender" and repeats it again with some variations in the second line. The phrase itself is indicative of the nature of the song, where surrender seems to be a prominent theme. The use of the word "sweet" can be interpreted as being pleasing or gratifying. The next set of lines "inside my waves are breaking, a light of my salvation", gives rise to a different interpretation. Here, the waves breaking can represent the internal struggle or conflict within the self, and the light can be seen as hope, or at worst, a fleeting sense of relief from the struggle.
The next lines "I'm seeking love and glory, just like I always do, the bosom of the freedom, are very rarely chewed" reiterate the idea of seeking, and once again surrender is mentioned. Here, the "bosom of freedom" can refer to the release or escape from the struggle that Plant refers to earlier. He goes on to mention that the "fire's still burning" and he is "still captive and still yearning" which denotes that despite seeking, the search has not yet been successful. In the final lines of the song, he sings about a heart that doesn't falter, and a love that never dies, but his light is dimming. The light could be a metaphor for his life force or spirit.

That voice is like an ivory down comforter. Listening, I am returned to the flickering sepia film in my mind which was life in the 70's: the warm glow of youth, a waft of patchouli mingled with weed, the silkiness of my long hair; cascading over my shoulder blades and the euphoria of love. Mmmmm...that crooning voice of his soothes this tired old woman who now aches and wistfully looks back on happier days. I thank him for that.

Being in my 20s in the 1970’s was definitely better than being in my 70s in the 2020’s. Robert Plant helps. 🌹✌️🤘😊

I know this feeling so very well.... moving from the city to the forest has made the veil of time a wee bit easier to reach back through. It certainly was a time.... ❤️🙏🏻

It was 1972 we looked into each other’s eyes and without words I asked “are you the Magic I’ve been searching for?”

Some artists skillfully mask their age, drawing us in as if they've found the fountain of youth. On the flipside, we have Robert Plant - who wears his years like a regal lion. He shows his growth. We hear the wisdom through the weathered cracks in his voice. Perfectly human. I love you, man!

Automatic Shoes I couldn’t have said it better! He is my favorite artist from the first time I heard Led Zeppelin’s music as a young teeny bopper many moons ago! It’s hard to think it’s been 50 years since they first formed their legendary & unique group, but their music is timeless. My grandchildren love their music! And Robert Plant is everything you said & more!

You said it all Automatic. Love his music and always will.
