Born in Bayonne, New Jersey, Tepper moved to New York where he became a staff writer until he paired up with fellow singer Benny Mardones. Together they wrote Mardones' pop hit "Into the Night" which earned the pair a Grammy Awards nomination.
In 1985, Tepper signed with Scotti Brothers and moved to Los Angeles. Actor/Director Sylvester Stallone was taken with Tepper's song "No Easy Way Out" which subsequently led to its inclusion into the movie Rocky IV.
"No Easy Way Out" skyrocketed to the Top 30 reaching 22 in 1986, momentarily putting Tepper in the public eye.

Sweat pouring down oh it ain't to pretty
Working your fingers to the bone
Trying to get blood from a stone
Whip it cracks just like thunder
Some survive her, most go under
Dancing this ball and chain around
(Angel of the city)
Now you're watching over me
(Angel of the city)
Tell me where can you be.
In time I'll find you, angel of the city
The streets they scream, with desire
The air is thick with dreams on fire
And this ain't any kind of life
Living on the edge of a knife
(Angel of the city)
Are you watching over me?
(Angel of the city)
Tell me where can you be.
In time I'll find you, angel of the city
(Angel of the city)
Come on show your face
(Angel of the city)
Free me from this place
In time I'll find, you
Heaven send her to my door
I can't hide away here anymore
(Angel of the city)
Are you watching over me?
(Angel of the city)
Tell me where can you be
In time you know I'll find you
In time you know I'll find you
In time I'll find you, angel of the city

Hands up, who is listening to 80s music in 2023 and is still in love with the 80s music? Call me old, but my generation made music, that never will be matched again - Freddie Mercury. This crap of today's music, like Taylor Swift, Pink, Ava Max, Gossip, and many others, all overplayed. Even im my office, I listen to 80s music from my thumbdrive or spotify.
