Agony
Robert Westenberg & Chuck Wagner Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Nobody knows, nobody can stop
Come to my dream, my sweet agony
I feel like God, I feel so free
Join us on the rubbish of life
Like us you'll love the despair
Join us on the rubbish of life
Like us you'll love the chaos
You understand, you believe
You understand, you know
How to explain when nobody can
Another dimension
How to believe, you understand
How to believe, you know
How to explain when nobody can
Another dimension
Come to my dream, my beautiful life
Nobody knows, nobody can stop
Come to my dream, my sweet agony
I feel like God, I feel so free
Join us on the rubbish of life
Like us you'll love the despair
Just want to say you know
Just want to guide your steps
Another dimension of physical laws
The first verse of "Agony" by Robert Westenberg and Chuck Wagner invites the listener to enter a dream world where the beauty and pain of life are intimately intertwined. The idea of a "sweet agony" suggests that even though the struggles of life can be painful, they are also an essential part of the journey. The invitation to join "us" on the "rubbish of life" suggests that the song is addressing those who have experienced hardship and are trying to find meaning in it.
The second verse of the song emphasizes the importance of understanding and believing in the mysteries of life when no one else can. The idea of a "dimension" beyond what we can see and touch emphasizes the idea that there is more to life than what is immediately apparent. The repetition of the phrase "you understand, you know" reinforces the idea that the song is speaking to those who have already had experiences that have taught them important lessons about life.
Overall, "Agony" is a song that celebrates the pain and beauty of life and invites those who have experienced hardship to find hope and meaning in their struggles.

Man, you just gotta love that Robert Westenberg guy. The guy is brilliant. But then Mr. Wagner opens his mouth and we are hit by a whole new wall of awesomeness. And then the two walls of awesomeness crash together and tell a beautiful story about two of the world's best brothers and worst princes. I'm thinking if I ever met one of those princes I would let him down incredibly hard, and then he would sing a really funny song about it.
@emmyty
Oh, what princes! LOL-- I can't get enough of this song!
