Ou seja o sentido não é "mas quase despertei" dando ênfase que ele ainda é Rei, mas justamente ao contrário, todo menino é Rei por que sonha em conquistar o mundo (sentido figurado) mas quando a gente cresce é tudo diferente e nada tao fácil e nessa hora desperta-se deixou de ser Rei...
