You Brought a New Kind of Love to Me
Robin McKelle Lyrics

They'd sing much sweeter than they do
For you brought a new kind of love to me
And if the sandman brought me dreams of you
I'd want to sleep my whole life through
You brought a new love to me
Still you can understand that underneath it all
You're a maid and I am only a man
I would work and slave the whole day through
If I could hurry home to you
You brought a new kind of love to me
I'm hit that I'm the slave, you're the queen
Still you might understand that underneath it all
You're a maid and I am only a man
I would work and slave the whole day through
If I could hurry home to you
You brought a new kind of love to me
In Robin McKelle's song "You Brought a New Kind of Love," the lyrics express deep feelings of affection and devotion from the singer to their love interest. The first stanza compares the sweetness of the nightingale's song to the beauty and impact of their love. The singer is enchanted by their partner's unique way of showing affection and how it made them fall in love all over again. The second stanza hints at the power dynamics in their relationship, with the singer acknowledging their position as the "slave" to their partner's "queen," but still feeling a sense of equality in their love. They express a willingness to work hard all day just to be able to come home to their loved one.
