Got To Believe In Love
Robin McNamara Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

In your eyes I see the hurt he left behind
And you're afraid to love and lose a second time
Oh but you and I we got such a beautiful thing
Why'd you want to let it go when it's just beginning to grow

Chorus:

You got to believe in love
You got to believe in love
Open up your heart & baby let the love come in
You got to believe in love
You got to believe in love
Open up your heart & baby let it all begin

Baby you, You're the first real love I found
If you put your trust in me I'll never ever let you down
Oh, not long ago oh I was once left behind
Ya see that's how I know
We gotta long long way to go

Chorus

Baby just believe
Baby just believe
Baby just believe
Baby just believe

Chorus

McNamara was an original member of the cast of the Broadway musical Hair in the 60s playing the lead role of Claude from 1969-71, before placing two singles on the charts in 1970. The same year, he signed with the New York-based Steed Records, owned by songwriter Jeff Barry, and recorded ‘Lay A Little Lovin’ On Me’, written by the two of them plus Jim Cretecos. It reached number 11 in the US, and was followed by ‘Got To Believe In Love’, which featured other singers fromHair on backing vocals.

this song is great. I should have downloaded it while reel player was working for me. it apears that real player don't work very well, for very long on windows 7/PC format. and reel player seems to fail when moving the files over to media player. OK reel to reel work for a little while, then it fails. this is a good song, to bad I don't have a more trusty way to download it from you tube.
