While temporarily living in Argentina, the Spanish diva participated in a successful musical called La zapatera prodigiosa, based on Federico García Lorca's work.
Sólo por no encontrarte me he perdido,
In Rocio Jurado's song Aburrida Estaba Yo, the singer expresses her complete boredom and lack of purpose without the presence of her lover. She describes how her life has been living in a sea of darkness and forgetfulness without her significant other. The lyrics depict the idea that the singer's reason for being born was to adore her partner, indicating a deep sense of love and devotion. The second verse refers to how she loses herself and her value without the love of her companion. She creates a necklace of meaningless days as a representation of her life without him, emphasizing how empty it feels.
The chorus reiterates how the singer felt nothing without her lover's love. She identified herself as either dead, asleep, sick, or nothing at all. Every breath she took without his presence was a lie. The second time we hear the chorus, the instrumentation rises, and there is a sense that the singer was playing games with herself-incomplete and pointless games that could not replace the beauty of love.
The final verse speaks of a desperate attempt to keep her lover close by deciding that her life wants to live only in him, and her lover's happiness is her own pleasure. She uses the words "encender un nino en la aventura" to indicate that love is a thrilling adventure full of excitement and growth. The singer also indicates that she is entirely in control of his obsession and craziness. The song's underlying message is the essence of the desire to belong and feel complete with the love of another person.
