Career
Jurado began performing flamenco at a very young age, debuting on the big screen in 1962 with Los guerrilleros, acting alongside Manolo Escobar. She also played a main role in 1966's Proceso a una estrella and 1971's Una chica casi decente. While temporarily living in Argentina, the Spanish diva participated in a successful musical called La zapatera prodigiosa, based on Federico García Lorca's work. After teaming with composer Manuel Alejandro, Rocío Jurado became a major and beloved figure on the Latin music scene, acclaimed throughout America and Spain after releasing Muera el amor and Señora, among other hits.

Aunque te dé lo mismo

Tu vanidad,
Indiferente
A la rosa desnuda de mis años.
Siempre,
Tu mala fe,
Buscando daño
Yo tengo un corazón loco y valiente
Que soporta conforme tus engaños
Y que tiene de grande los reaños
Para aguantar tu burla eternamente.
Pero puede llegar un mediodía
Que se acabe esta amarga letanía
De llorar y callar tanto cinismo,
Tanto cinismo.
Que se encuentre otra boca con la mía
Y me pierda en un bosque de alegría,
Aunque a ti corazón, corazón,
Te dé lo mismo, te dé lo mismo.
Te dé lo mismo.
The first verse of the song Aunque te dé lo mismo by Rocío Jurado talks about the singer's partner's indifference towards her. They compare her partner's vanity to a naked rose, vulnerable and exposed to the world. The second verse talks about her partner's malicious intent towards her love, taking advantage of her willingness to forgive. Despite her partner's wrongdoings, the singer has a brave and crazy heart that endures the pain and humiliation of the relationship. However, the singer acknowledges that someday, the bitter routine of crying and silence will end. She will find happiness with another person even if it means losing her partner's love. The chorus repeats the phrase "te dé lo mismo," which means "it's all the same to you."
The song's lyrics showcase a person's heartbreaking experience of not being loved enough by their partner. Despite the singer's unwavering love and efforts, their partner remains indifferent to their emotions. The song's words and melody evoke an emotional response from the listener, making it a powerful and poignant piece. The song's chorus reflects the singer's acceptance of the fact that her partner does not care about her and her eventual hope to find happiness elsewhere.
