Blue Bird
Roch Voisine Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I've already written lots of songs
But never did for blue birds
I guess I never had the chance
To see one and to observe
They say they come from far away
Above the land, across the sea
If you could be tiny blue bird
Would you fly to me
Blue bird, blue bird
don't you ever fly away
Cause your time has come to stay
With your blue eyes
I'm in love everyday
Blue bird, blue bird
Blue bird, blue bird
Guess I could travel around the world
And never find someone like you
I know I may get carried away but
What else can I do
I've already met lots of girls
But no one smiles like you
If I could be tiny blue bird
Could I fly to you
Blue bird, blue bird
don't you ever fly away
Cause your time has come to stay
And with your blue eyes
I'm in love everyday
Blue bird, blue bird
Don't you ever fly away

Blue bird, blue bird
Blue bird, blue bird

Overall Meaning

In Roch Voisine's song "Blue Bird," the artist shares his admiration for the blue birds he has never had the chance to see and observe. Although he has written many songs, he has never composed one about these birds. He understands that they come from far away lands, across the seas, and if he could be a tiny blue bird, he would love to fly to him. Voisine seems to express loneliness and the quest to find someone special. He has traveled around the world, but he has never met someone like the blue bird. The bird has beautiful blue eyes that the artist falls in love with every day.

The song revolves around the idea of loneliness, longing, and the search for a true connection. The blue bird, for the artist, represents the ideal person or love that he has been searching for. The bird's beauty and exquisiteness seem to capture his heart, and he is besotted with the idea of being with the blue bird. The song's message, therefore, is about the longing for companionship, the desire to connect with someone, and the persistent hope of finding true love.

A woman's smile opens the doors to her eyes,
A woman's time gives the man something to long for.
Her eyes brings chapters to a man's life.

Oui sublime chanson. Je l'ai beaucoup aimé, à l'époque j'avais 14 ans et j'ai appris l'anglais sur cet album!! Je me souviens que c'était l'album "I'll always be there". Avec "There's no easy way", "Stay", "Am I wrong..."... Maria Louisa, tu te souviens? Le double avait des chansons anglophones très belles, mais celui-ci, était superbe aussi !!!
