Rochelle Jordan Lyrics

Tell me how it supposed to be bad
I'm the best that you ever had
I bet you probably think that I should private
But I'm the only thing that's going on
So do you think as you should know
I'm gonna curse you up
I'm gonna rush you up
I don't wanna talk this shit thing going right now
I'm just happy I came out
I ain't tripping love up on your face
Hope your friends look at how it turned up
Laughing on their way to the benz
I know that you know what it is right now
And it is what it is right now
Just speeding down the four one
Speeding down the four one
It feels so good so good
It feels so good so good
Oh oh ooh
'Cause now I know you ain't the one,
Now I know that this ain't love
You ain't no good no good
It feels so good so good

You're expecting me to cry, but it's so wrong
By the way, the sex ain't never been so bad
Baby you ain't got to worry about that
Baby I'm happy, take a look at what we had
But you won't never get it back
Find me in the city, find me in the city right
Paddle to the [?] to the last if you see me back now
Had enough by living in the past, you be seeing the past on the way back
Some go fast, go away right now
I know that you know what it is right now
And it is what it is right now
Just speeding down the four one
Speeding down the four one
It feels so good so good
It feels so good so good
So goood,
'Cause now I know you ain't THE ONE,
Now I know that this ain't LOVE
You ain't no good no good

It feels so good so good
Yeah ooh oh

Overall Meaning

In "401," Rochelle Jordan reflects on a past relationship that was not meant to be. The song begins with her addressing her former lover, questioning why they believe the relationship was bad when she knows she was the best they ever had. She acknowledges that the breakup may have been expected, but she's enjoying her independence and doesn't want to dwell on the past.

Rochelle expresses a sense of liberation and empowerment as she declares that she won't shed any tears over this failed relationship. She even admits that the sex wasn't good towards the end of the relationship, signaling that the connection was already eroding. She finds solace in the fact that she can move on from this experience, even as she encounters reminders of their past together in the city. The chorus drives home the message that despite any lingering feelings, Rochelle has accepted that her ex was not the one for her and there is no love lost.

Nothing against her newer music but I feel like her new music is more rap like and different as if she's trying too hard to push away the Aaliyah comparisons. I rather her older music on this album. This song reminds me of Aaliyah especially the runs. Everybody's got an opinion, but she started to bring back what we were missing in music.
