Visceral
Rodia Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Partimos desde el polvo,
Desde el mar.
Las olas amenazan consagrar
El funeral
Que irrumpe con la fuerza matinal
Visceral
En el final
Vuelves al polvo,
El caminar quiere terminar
...A fin de cuentas
Todo vuelve a su lugar original...
Es el final,
Rumbo perpetuo y general
Vuelve a comenzar
El desierto del dolor,
El fatal suspiro del partir se escuchó.
La marea enmudeció
La diadema escapa al corazón
No estas aquí...
Duérmete ya y dormirás,
Hasta el día en que yo iré, yo te iré a buscar...
The lyrics of Visceral by Rodia paint a picture of the cycle of life and death. The song begins with the lines "Al despertar, Partimos desde el polvo, Desde el mar," which mean "Upon waking, we depart from the dust, from the sea." These lines suggest that we as humans are born from the earth and return to it upon death. The following lines, "Las olas amenazan consagrar, El funeral Que irrumpe con la fuerza matinal Visceral" suggest that the waves of the sea are a symbol of death and that death is a powerful, natural force.
The middle section of the song talks about the end of life, as the lyrics say "En el final, Vuelves al polvo, El caminar quiere terminar, A fin de cuentas Todo vuelve a su lugar original..." which means "At the end, you return to dust, your walk wants to end, at the end of the day, everything returns to its original place..." This section of the song suggests that life is temporary and that death is inevitable, and we will eventually return to the earth from which we came.
The song ends with the lines "Duérmete ya y dormirás, Hasta el día en que yo iré, yo te iré a buscar..." which translate to "Sleep now and you will sleep until the day I will go and I will look for you...". These lines could be interpreted as the idea of an afterlife, where the living continue to search for their loved ones who have passed on.
